Book Impact Properties of Natural Rubber high Density Polyethylene

Download or read book Impact Properties of Natural Rubber high Density Polyethylene written by Sahrim Hj. Ahmad and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thermoplastic natural rubber blends have been produced by mixing natural rubber (NR) with high density polypropylene (HDPE). The use of liquid natural rubber (LNR) as a compatibilizer on 60/40 and 70/30 NR/HDPE blends was investigated. Both blends showed low impact energy at room temperature but high impact energy at low temperature. The lowest impact energy was found for samples containing no LNR. The addition of LNR in the blends also enchanged the hardness and tensile properties of the blends. A single glass transition temperature suggested miscibility of NR with HDPE in the present of LNR.
