Book Collective Excitation Spectra of Transitional Even Nuclei

Download or read book Collective Excitation Spectra of Transitional Even Nuclei written by and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This talk is dealing with the nuclear low energy collective motion as described in the context of microscopic versions of the Bohr Hamiltonian. Two different ways of building microscopically Bohr collective Hamiltonians will be sketched; one within the framework of the Generator Coordinate Method, the other using the Adiabatic Time-Dependent Hartree-Fock-Boholyubov approximation. A sample of recent results will be presented which pertains to the description of transitional even nuclei and to the newly revisited phenomenon of superdeformation at low spin.

Download or read book From Nucleons to Nucleus written by Jouni Suhonen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-04-22 with total page 655 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From Nucleons to Nucleus deals with single-particle and collective features of spherical nuclei. Each nuclear model is introduced and derived in detail. The formalism is then applied to light and medium-heavy nuclei in worked-out examples, and finally the acquired skills are strengthened by a wide selection of exercises, many relating the models to experimental data. Nuclear properties are discussed using particles, holes and quasi-particles. From Nucleons to Nucleus is based on lectures on nuclear physics given by the author, and serves well as a textbook for advanced students. Researchers too will appreciate it as a well-balanced reference to theoretical nuclear physics.

Book The Dynamic Collective Theory of Odd a Nuclei

Download or read book The Dynamic Collective Theory of Odd a Nuclei written by Michael Danos and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The unified model and the collective giant dipole resonance model are unified. The resulting energy spectrum and the transition probabilities are derived. A new approximate selection rule involving the symmetry of the gamma-vibrations is established. It is verified that the main observable features in the photon absorption cross section are not influenced by the odd particle, despite the considerably richer spectrum of states as compared to even-even nuclei.
