Book Civil Aircraft Electrical Power System Safety Assessment

Download or read book Civil Aircraft Electrical Power System Safety Assessment written by Peng Wang and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2017-06-12 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Civil Aircraft Electrical Power System Safety Assessment: Issues and Practices provides guidelines and methods for conducting a safety assessment process on civil airborne systems and equipment. As civil aircraft electrical systems become more complicated, electrical wiring failures have become a huge concern in industry and government—especially on aging platforms. There have been several accidents (most recently battery problems on the Boeing 777) with some of these having a relationship to wiring and power generation. Featuring a case study on the continuous safety assessment process of the civil airborne electrical power system, this book addresses problems, issues and troubleshooting techniques such as single event effects (SEE), the failure effects of electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS), formal theories and safety analysis methods in civil aircrafts. Introduces how to conduct assignment of development assurance levels for the electrical power system Includes safety assessments of aging platforms and their respective Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) Features material on failure mechanisms for wiring systems and discussion of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) sustainment

Book 1000 Civil Aircraft in Colour

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is aimed at that ever-growing marketplace. It will appeal both to aviation enthuisasts and those who have a more general interest in the subject. The book provides exactly what it says on the box: 1000 photographs of civil airliners of all types, large and small, photographed all over the world in recent years, in a multiplicity of markings. Each picture is accompanied by a detailed caption with information about the type of airliner shown, the individual aircraft portrayed, the airline which flies it, and the location where the photograph was taken. The result is a wide-ranging and comprehensive guide to world civil aviation today. The photographs reflect the ever-changing liveries employed by the airlines for image and marketing purposes, and the many and varied types of aircraft seen in the book's pages range from the latest types and variants of well-known jet liners to ancient propliners which are still in service in some parts of the world, but consigned to aviation museums in others.

Book Advanced Aircraft Design

Download or read book Advanced Aircraft Design written by Egbert Torenbeek and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-05-28 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although the overall appearance of modern airliners has not changed a lot since the introduction of jetliners in the 1950s, their safety, efficiency and environmental friendliness have improved considerably. Main contributors to this have been gas turbine engine technology, advanced materials, computational aerodynamics, advanced structural analysis and on-board systems. Since aircraft design became a highly multidisciplinary activity, the development of multidisciplinary optimization (MDO) has become a popular new discipline. Despite this, the application of MDO during the conceptual design phase is not yet widespread. Advanced Aircraft Design: Conceptual Design, Analysis and Optimization of Subsonic Civil Airplanes presents a quasi-analytical optimization approach based on a concise set of sizing equations. Objectives are aerodynamic efficiency, mission fuel, empty weight and maximum takeoff weight. Independent design variables studied include design cruise altitude, wing area and span and thrust or power loading. Principal features of integrated concepts such as the blended wing and body and highly non-planar wings are also covered. The quasi-analytical approach enables designers to compare the results of high-fidelity MDO optimization with lower-fidelity methods which need far less computational effort. Another advantage to this approach is that it can provide answers to “what if” questions rapidly and with little computational cost. Key features: Presents a new fundamental vision on conceptual airplane design optimization Provides an overview of advanced technologies for propulsion and reducing aerodynamic drag Offers insight into the derivation of design sensitivity information Emphasizes design based on first principles Considers pros and cons of innovative configurations Reconsiders optimum cruise performance at transonic Mach numbers Advanced Aircraft Design: Conceptual Design, Analysis and Optimization of Subsonic Civil Airplanes advances understanding of the initial optimization of civil airplanes and is a must-have reference for aerospace engineering students, applied researchers, aircraft design engineers and analysts.

Book The International Civil Operations of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Under Air Law

Download or read book The International Civil Operations of Unmanned Aircraft Systems Under Air Law written by Luis Fernando Fiallos Pazmiño and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Civil Operations of Unmanned Aircraft Systems under Air Law' explores the current legal and regulatory frameworks comprehensively from the perspective of how they may facilitate the routine and cross-border operations of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). While the International Civil Aviation Organization is working to amend and create new Standards and Recommended Practices for the operation of UAS on cross-border flights, Member States have already produced regulations that facilitate the integration and operation of the aircraft within their national airspace. This situation is causing to subvert the attempt to develop uniform and harmonised normative for UAS for international flight operations. The increasing operations of UAS have increased the safety and security concerns on manned aviation, and hence there is an escalating need to adopt a comprehensive regulatory framework for the operation of UAS aimed at safe and efficient integration. The author, a well-known air law practitioner and diplomat, identifies the legal challenges and proposes sound, well-informed measures to tackle such challenges.
