Book Christian Conviction v State Persecution

Download or read book Christian Conviction v State Persecution written by Paul Zylstra and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-02-22 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: They said it would never happen in America, but the First Amendment was severely attacked in Nebraska from 1977 to 1984. Christian Conviction v. State Persecution chronicles not only the events but why they took place. This was not isolated to a single denomination or group. Among the churches attacked were Amish, Mennonite, Apostolic, Pentecostal, Baptist, and Church of Christ. Among the homeschool families, the list expands farther. Faith, freedom, and liberty were all under attack by the Nebraska Department of Education and their allies in the courts and the state legislature. Before I ever met Paul, I had seen his face on the CBN film footage of him being hauled away by sheriff's deputies from an altar where he was praying with a group of men. As Paul writes in this book, "Few cases of the loss of Christian freedom have drawn more attention than the jailing of the pastor and the padlocking of the [Faith Baptist] church building in Louisville, Nebraska." The powerful film footage and photos from this incident 'went viral' across the American evangelical landscape, and there was widespread outrage and concern. This persecution backfired: It would cement the courage and convictions of an entire generation of parents who had become increasingly alarmed about what was happening in public schools. --Sarah Leslie Publisher and Iowa Homeschool Leader Paul Zylstra and some of his compatriots were a large part of the intellectual undergirding of this endeavor that proved in large measure successful over a number of years. This book is a great work in establishing the underlying issues facing honest disciples in Jesus in responding to the intrusions of the "state" into matters of faith. --Pastor Larry Lautaret Nebraska Christian School Leader Most people feel that the First Amendment has been followed everywhere in the USA since the founding of this great country. In the 1980s, in the state of Nebraska, several people went to jail, lost jobs, and fled the state because there was an existing law that violated Christian liberty. As Christians realized, the government-controlled system was going against what the Bible taught. Therefore, they started their own schools free from state control. This book tells in detail what happened when the established government tried to control Bible Christianity in Nebraska and how the Lord of heaven stepped in and straightened things out. --Warren Rushton Author and Nebraska Homeschool Leader

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Be Inspired by Amazing Eyewitness Stories of Hope and Courage from the Persecuted Church We are witnessing an astonishing escalation in Christian persecution like we have rarely seen since the first century. Some estimate that every five minutes, a Christian is martyred for his or her faith. Countries like Egypt have experienced more Christian persecution in the last five years than in the previous six hundred years combined. And who could have missed the atrocities of ISIS in Syria, Boko Haram in Nigeria, and the continued persecution of Christians in North Korea? Johnnie Moore, like many American Christians, didn't fully appreciate the extent of what was going on--until he witnessed the graduation of theology students in India. Unlike graduation ceremonies in America--where feel-good speeches made by visiting celebrities are common--this one featured a remarkable oath. It wasn't an oath to excel or succeed. It was an oath to be willing to die, if necessary, for the cause of Christ. This was no empty promise. This was a choice, choosing the eternal over the temporal. Johnnie knew he was witnessing a raw, first-century Christianity that his comfortable American version had shielded him from. "For the first time, I really understand my faith," says Johnnie Moore. Now, he's on a mission to give this same experience to others. He and his team have crisscrossed the world, recorders in hand, gathering eyewitness accounts from dozens of people who survived persecution--and the stories of some who didn't. Join Johnnie Moore on this compelling journey to the heart of the Christian faith.

Book excerpt: "In Persecution you'll enter the hotly contested battle for the soul of our public schools. Here are appalling - but true - stories of how anti-Christian social engineers not only prohibit school prayer and forbid students from wearing Christian symbols, like a simple cross, but even expunge the real story of Christianity in America from history textbooks. Worse still, in the name of "diversity," "tolerance," "multiculturalism," and "sex education," the social engineers actively inculcate hatred of Christianity as ignorant, repressive, and offensive. Not exactly the agenda of most parents whose tax dollars support the public schools." "Looking honestly at the dominant influence of Christianity in America's colonial culture and schools, where the Bible was routinely used as a textbook, Limbaugh makes a compelling case that the education students receive today is not what the Founders would have endorsed. Indeed, they would have been outraged at what is taught - and what the courts say - in their name, under the pretext of the non-constitutional and woefully misunderstood phrase "separation of church and state.""--BOOK JACKET.

The open and public persecution of modern Christians for the sin of "intolerance" is not an isolated incident, a regional or local issue, it is a national pattern of behavior. Within these pages we will examine and document that fact. This special report considers the current state of affairs and the deliberate attempt to alter the definition of words and the law in order to censor and persecute people of the Christian faith in the United States of America in the 21st Century. More than just highlighting the pattern of persecution, the author will detail and examine ways for the modern Christian to find strength and resolution in the face of organized attack.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I started out as an innocent bystander, and I ended up suffering to the Bureau of Prison system. Because of Wesley's prolonged disobedience to the law, I've allowed myself to become a victim for accepting child support without the use of the court of law. With courage and faith in God, I filed an appeal with the help of my mom, Pokey, Shay, Cynt, and Tonio purchasing me a private attorney; but I still lost. My wrongful conviction gave me insight as how to deal with unfair circumstances in my life. After being taken from my family and friends, I now realized God had another plan and purpose for my life, one that did not involve a drug dealer taking care of me or retiring from Mercedes Benz, but going back to school to practice law to help the next person. I did not use my incarceration as an excuse for continued failure. Instead, I now live my life trusting in God, and more determined to do his will. Because of my faith and courage in God alone, he did not only deliver me from this difficult circumstance, he is also using me by telling my story so that other young ladies will not fall victim to the prison system by becoming involved with a baby daddy, boyfriend, or husband who's a drug dealer. With the knowledge and wisdom I have learned, I want to help prove God's existence and power to others as well. We need people in our justice system who will create wise solutions toward the various problems of our justice system and in our community such as more schools, rehabs, and just simple counseling, to transform and redirect our minds. I can never sit back and accept whatever has been handed down to me again. I will put up a fight so that the human race can start being treated more justly.

Book Christians in the Crosshairs

Download or read book Christians in the Crosshairs written by Gregory C. Cochran and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An insightful and (surprisingly) encouraging biblical explanation as to why trouble and persecution are inevitable for Christians. Since they are a peculiar people, are in the world but not of the world, and follow a Master who is offensive to many, Christians are naturally the objects of disdain and hostility. Understanding the nature of the enmity between the world and the Christian is critical for living in a world where Satan is its prince. The book is an attempt to start a conversation about the reality of Christian persecution. It is a wake-up call to the modern church, especially in the United States. "My hope for all who read this volume," writes the author, "is a strengthened faith. One of the most surprising aspects of studying persecution has been its effect on me. I thought I would feel woeful and defeated after hearing of such great suffering. However, the opposite is true. The Gospel, with its resurrection power, is able to take the worst situations and reframe them in victory. Hearing stories of triumph through suffering has been nothing short of glorious."
