Book Thespian Theology Parables of

Download or read book Thespian Theology Parables of written by John A. TenBrook and published by CSS Publishing. This book was released on 2001 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many congregations are searching for fresh approaches to telling the good news -- and Thespian Theology is just what you need to inject a healthy dose of fun into the scriptural message. Twelve of Jesus' parables are depicted in a humorous, offbeat way in scripts that were originally developed for presentation by a high school-age youth group. While the plays are especially appropriate for adolescents, they also maintain a focus on the biblical text and will appeal to all ages. Pastors and youth leaders will discover that these simple, easy-to-perform sketches can be an excellent tool for reaching out to unchurched people and getting them excited about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone who participates in (or witnesses a performance) of these sketches will enjoy them while learning about God in the process. Some of the amusing titles include: Who Is My Neighbor? or The Parable of the Good Geek (The Good Samaritan) Wilfred Wonderful's Weightless Wooden Widget Works (The Unforgiving Servant) Hey... Who's in Charge Here? (The Laborers in the Vineyard) Irkum D. Judge, Esq. (The Judge and the Widow) A graduate of Harvard University (B.A. and M.B.A.), John A. TenBrook has been addicted to the theatre ever since he appeared in Harvard's famous Hasty Pudding Show as an undergraduate. He has worked in marketing and public relations for the Westvaco and Friendly Ice Cream corporations, and has also served as Director of Community Relations for two social service agencies in the Springfield, Massachusetts area. He is currently the Communications Coordinator for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts.

All due to the infamous Cowboy Mafia operating from a seafood storefront in High Island, Texas. To record, it was the largest smuggling ring on the United States mainland. Over 200 tons of Marijuana and other drugs were transported via four different vessels: The Agnes Pauline, Monkey, Jubilee and Bayou Blues from Columbia, Panama, Costa Rica and other Central American locations to be distributed over the highways and byways of Texas through multiple states and even other countries. The main players were horse trainers from Dallas and Fort Worth and a Texas billionaire who owned a famous cutting horse named Cutter Bill.

Book Memories of a Secret Agent

Download or read book Memories of a Secret Agent written by Paul Kramer and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2006-12-11 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is essential for the reader to remember that this is a memoir; in other words, a record of events based on the authors experiences and feelings. Because of the secrecy restrictions at the time these events occurred, and in some cases for many years thereafter, the author kept no diary, notes, or record and wrote no letters describing his work. Furthermore, almost without exception, all the people with whom and for whom he worked are now dead. Consequently, in writing this book, the author has been entirely dependent on his memory. At the age of ninety-one, this memory may have at times been defective or twisted. However, there can be no doubt the story is true. Careful research of the archives of the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs, the U.S. Navy, and the CIA should substantiate this. But even here, there will be difficulties due to secrecy and the deindexing of the FBIs Latin American files by its then-director rather than turn them over to the hated CIA. Moreover, the authors foolish refusal to accede to the request of his commanding officer to write the history of the naval operation Roads End immediately after its conclusion and for which he had received a commendation has erased forever the details of that historic event. Finally, the tragic suicide of the CIAs director of operations subsequent to the Kim Philby espionage scandal diminished the possibility of a proper analysis of events surrounding it in Washington . . .

Book Controversies in the History of British Feminism The workers woman and labour

Download or read book Controversies in the History of British Feminism The workers woman and labour written by Marie Mulvey Roberts and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 728 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following on from Sources and Perspectives in the History of British Feminism , Controversies in the History of British Feminism is the third set of 6 volumes which looks at controversial aspects of the women's movement. Feminism has always been characterized by ideological dispute and conflict over strategy in the struggle for equality, and controversies have focused mainly on the means rather than the ends involved in the achievement of the movement's specific goals. On the issue of the fight for the vote the controversies were clearly visible. The conflicts within the women's suffrage movement eventually lead to the split between the suffragettes, who supported militancy, and those who opposed it. Not surprisingly, the historical record has been shaped by the political persuasions of a particular narrator. For example, the story of the Women's Social and Political Union told by Christabel Pankhurst in Unshackled in Volume 6 differs in points of emphasis from the version narrated by her sister, Sylvia Pankhurst in The Suffragette Movement . Christabel's militant feminism clashed with Sylvia's belief that equality would come about through social reform. More controversi still were those who were opposed entirely to women obtaining the vote. Many of these belonged to the Anti-Suffrage League. The inclusion of their writings in Volume 5 illustrated the extent of the opposition to the women's franchise.
