Download or read book Childhood Scars Release From Pain To Healing written by Dr. Sandra Robertson and published by Sandra Robertson. This book was released on 2022-09-20 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Why am I so easily triggered?” “Why do I always attract the same abusive people?” “What is the cause of this pain and suffering in my life that makes it impossible for me to live a healthy life?” As far back as some of us can remember, living with quiet desperation to find the meaning of my mental pain and suffering, there seemed to be no solution. We wonder aimlessly for years, seeking answers to a problem that constantly affects our mental stability, and plagued by the vague uneasiness of this painful emotional and psychological scar, one asks themselves, "Why Me?" "Why am I the only person suffering from this childhood scar?" In our search for an answer, we see others living with this beautiful, perfect family life, excellent financial stability, and a successful life without struggle; we find ourselves becoming upset. I discovered that it was all an illusion; there are no ideal lives, no matter how well presented. Living without pain and suffering is an illusion because life is challenging and how we internalize trauma determines our reaction. Childhood Scars Release from Pain to Healing brings meaning to answering these questions. No book can answer all your questions. Still, this book provides an understanding of the causes of childhood scars to help you take control of your life, reestablish a connection with yourself, have better relationships and stability, manage feelings and emotions, and find inner peace to enjoy life. Picture yourself with Auntie San, asking these questions and getting answers to help you heal from a traumatic event and suggestions for living a healthier life.

Adults who can't let go of their own troubled childhoods risk repeating this destructive cycle with their own children. Book Troubled Childhood Triumphant Life

Download or read book Troubled Childhood Triumphant Life written by James P. Krehbiel and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why do some individuals transcend the turbulence of troubled childhoods as they transition to adulthood, while others are doomed to replicate the past and remain mired in the dark memories of their pasts? James Krehbiel, Ed.S., LPC, CCBT, explores, explains and answers this pivotal question in Troubled Childhood, Triumphant Life. While many people enjoyed happy, robust youths filled with love and support, for others childhood memories are riddled with painful recollections of hurt, neglect and shame. Repressed feelings centering around a traumatic upbringing are habitually veiled beneath a cloak of what krehbiel calls the "magical illusions" that children cling to as they grow up. As adults, they still seek to gain the approval and validation of their absent and/or abusive parents. Gleaned from fifteen years of working with children and adults, Krehbiel lays out a clear guide for a new path by showing: Steps to leave behind the illusions of childhood for those who have struggled from the aftermath of traumatic rearing Ways to adapt positively to adulthood in the wake of parental abuse Approaches to reframe unhappy childhood histories and bring closure in the present. Methods to explore the techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy in combating such stress-related mental ailments as obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder related to childhood abuse Strategies abused individuals can use to break the cycle of repeating destructive processes with the next generation Troubled Childhood, Triumphant Life will help adults find hope and healing as they strengthen their resolves to make life-altering decisions, leaving the past behind them and opening the door to happy, fulfilling futures. Book Scars of Destiny

Download or read book Scars of Destiny written by Antoinette McDuffy and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2021-07-20 with total page 73 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here I sit, with pen in hand, writing for the 9 year-old girl who endured overwhelming heartache and pain many years ago. I write for myself, and every young child who has suffered at the hands of the ones they trusted to care for them, to raise them, to nurture them and most importantly to help them to dream. To dream of what their future could be. I write for the 9 year-old girl who remained captive in my body, captive in my mind, and captive in my heart and soul. She had no idea on how to start her story or how it would end; she just wanted to be free. All she could see and feel was childhood pain that shackled her feet and cuffed her hands and kept her bound to the open wounds of the past. Pain is all she knew and she has longed forever to be released from it. The battle that she fought was one riddled with questions: Why did this happen to me? Why did God choose me to go through this? Why did my mom fail to protect me? Did I do something to deserve this? Questions that remain unanswered to this day. But it’s not the answers to these questions that set one on a journey of healing. It is the power to give voice to one’s reality. The voice that gives instruction on how to free yourself from constant hurt and self-inflicted pain. In this book, I give you the voice that was lost or silenced. I invite you, my readers, to go with me on this journey from hurt to healing and forgiveness. When I began writing this book, my thoughts were that my experiences would provide healing to others. As my words started to flow and I began to relive my past, I realized that this was for me, for my own healing. I know there are many who can relate to my journey and that’s unfortunate, but it’s real. Is there anyone out there who can relate to trauma in his or her life? Your trauma is anything that has happened in your life that has created a disturbance. Maybe you lost a loved one, or were raped by someone you knew or a stranger. Perhaps you experienced a bad breakup with someone, or your parents divorced, or you personally went through a divorce or (PTSD) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Whatever caused you to become deeply wounded and separated from yourself, just know that you are not alone and help is just a whisper away. I had to make some serious decisions in my life that would make me or break me. Was I prepared to deal with my deep-rooted issues that stopped me from living life to the fullest through forgiveness? Or would I allow my past of being molested as a child, abused physically, mentally and psychologically as an adult and my own self-inflicted abusive behaviors continue to hinder me? I had experienced enough negativity in my life, so I decided to try something different - Believing in me.

Book Stolen Beauty

Book excerpt: At a young age, author A. L. Madden was exposed to the kind of inconceivable treatment no one, let alone a defenseless child, should endure. A brutal stepfather with a murky and painful history of his own found himself in an environment in which he continued the cycle of trauma, committing unspeakable acts of sexual and emotional abuse against Madden and her siblings. Meanwhile, her struggling, overworked mother didnt see the pain and damage being inflicted on her children. Madden felt ashamed, hurt, angry, and, most of all, unable to talkto anyoneabout what was happening. She felt as though it was her fault. The only route to dealing with the anguish was to submerge herself in a distrustful, insecure, depressed state. As have many survivors of abuse, Madden felt abandoned, unable to see who she really was, unable to hold on to any glimmer of hope. Only through a long soul-searching process that involved a combination of therapy, study, prayer, and the eventual strong faith in the power of her own inner strength and spiritthe innocence and beauty she had once possessed as a childwas Madden fi nally able to reach a place of understanding and peace. Stolen Beauty tells a poignant story for anyone who seeks guidance through his or her own recovery from abuse or for anyone who works to help survivors and abusers alike.

Book Turning Your Scars Into Stars

Download or read book Turning Your Scars Into Stars written by Edith Dolores Roman and published by . This book was released on 2016-09-06 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Turning Your Scars into Stars is about emotional scars on the heart, spirit, and soul. These types of scars are the most difficult and painful to heal. They consist of abandonment, chronic hurt, pain, rejection, and death. Two verses that comfort me tremendously are Deuteronomy 31:8, which says, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged" (NIV), and also 1 Corinthians 10:13, which says, "God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it" (NIV). My name is Edith Dolores Roman, and I must be honest and tell you that sometimes when life hit me full force, I felt that the challenges I faced were beyond my ability to overcome! Starting with my childhood, I was orphaned at age eleven, became a foster child, and eventually struggled to raise my two children as a single mother. However, with prayer, persistence, and the strength of God, I was able to overcome, and you are able to also! One more verse that helps me to continue to persevere through my problems is found in 2 Corinthians 12:9, when God reminds his servants, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (NIV). This book is intended to help people in struggles go from the pit to the peak! My prayer is that this book will help you heal and that it will nurture your soul, just like Proverbs 16:24 says, "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones" (NIV).
