Book excerpt: As we delve into the annals of history to recount the tale of Ram Janmabhoomi - a narrative entwined with faith, politics, and identity - it is paramount to approach this account with sensitivity and objectivity. The Ram Janmabhoomi conflict, far beyond a legal dispute over a parcel of land in Ayodhya, has been deeply ingrained in the collective memory of a nation, resonating with millions across religious and cultural boundaries. The narrative of Ram Janmabhoomi is not just a chronicle of events that unfolded over decades but a reflection of India's evolving socio-political landscape. It is a story that spans centuries, tracing back to pre-historic times and stretching into the modern era of legal battles and mass movements. This story is not merely about the bricks and mortar of a disputed structure but the intertwined relationship between faith and identity, law and justice, history and chronological facts. In this book, we embark on a comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted layers of the Ram Janmabhoomi struggle. We traverse its historical foundations, the fervent emergence of the Ayodhya movement, the intricate legal battles, the eventual resolution by the Supreme Court of India, and the broader implications for Indian society. Each chapter serves as a testament to the issue's complexity, illuminating the religious sentiments, political aspirations, legal arguments, and the quest for communal harmony. The long-term impact on Hindu-Muslim relations and communal harmony in India remains a topic of debate. In 2019, the response to the Supreme Court's verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi issue was primarily measured by calls for peace and communal harmony from various quarters. We acknowledge the diverse perspectives that this topic encompasses and respect the profound emotions it stirs. The aim is not to advocate a singular viewpoint but to present a balanced understanding of how the Ram Janmabhoomi issue shaped and was shaped by the myriad dimensions of Indian life. This book is an endeavor to chronicle a significant chapter in India's history that will be remembered for generations as a cornerstone in the country's journey towards grappling with its diverse heritage and charting its path forward. As readers embark on this journey through the pages of history, it is hoped that they gain insights into the events that transpired and the underlying currents of cultural, religious, and national identity that the Ram Janmabhoomi struggle represents. This is a story of a nation's struggle with its past, its present, and the implications for its future. Welcome to the journey of Ayodhya's struggle. Objective of this book In this book, our primary objective is to delve into the multifaceted aspects of the Ram Janmabhoomi issue. This topic sits at the intersection of history, religion, and politics in India, which is Bharat, and simultaneously affects the entire world. Many research studies have led to chronological evidence shared in this book. This exploration aims to comprehensively understand the complexities and nuances surrounding the history, faith, and belief of righteousness around this sacred struggle. The book seeks to unravel the layers of this struggle by examining its historical roots, religious significance, and the political dynamics that have shaped its discourse. Book excerpt: India is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of history and heritage. Many great rulers have been born in our country in the history of the world. The list in this book covers the kings who ruled India and other countries from BC to modern India. The list may include some names who were not kings in the traditional sense , but who played important roles in their kingdoms. beautiful country , India , is the most populous democracy in the whole world. This vibrant democracy is run with the help of a heavy political and executive machinery. From around 600 BC the country has seen the ups and downs of various empires and many great rulers were needed to ensure proper governance of this vast land. Needless to say , India has a vibrant history filled with fascinating tales of empires and rulers. Here is a list of some such great rulers. These mighty rulers and their regimes provide a glimpse into India's turbulent but glorious past. Our great nation also came under fire from several Venab emperors , including Cyrus the Great and of course the Persian Achaemenids led by Alexander the Great. Over the years, various kingdoms emerged here , remnants of some of which still exist. And in these states, there are some states which have had a deep impact on the history and culture of India. There are many kings and kingdoms that the world has seen. So it is not possible to give a straight answer to the greatest king of all time as he has to face various situations and circumstances and even betrayals before the rise of his kingdom. But in my opinion the list of kings in this book are the greatest kings the world has ever seen.

Book excerpt: Preface The period commencing about the end of the 19th century till the end of the 20th century marked the 'golden era' of 'gharandaj/gharanedar khayal gayaki'(traditional 'khayal gayaki'). The south-west region of India which was then known as Bombay Presidency comprised of the princely states of Kolhapur, Sangli, Miraj Senior, Miraj Junior, Kurundwad Senior, Kurundwad Junior, Jamkhandi, Mudhol and Ramdurg. Only exceptional performers of outstanding caliber were appointed as 'darbar gayaks' (or 'state musicians') of these prestigious princely states. "Proudh Gandharva" Pandit Vishwanathbuwa Jadhav and his illustrious sons namely, "Gantapasvi" Pandit Baburao alias B.V. Jadhav, "Swara-Ratna" Pandit Rajaram alias Pandit R.V.Jadhav and "Ganrasila" Pandit Pandurang alias P.V. Jadhav, were reputed 'darbar gayaks' and distinguished direct disciples of "Sangeetratna" Ustad Abdul Karim Khan who pioneered the prolifi c 'Kirana gharana' 'khayal' vocal tradition of this golden era. They all gained individual recognition and fame and are still legendary. The visionary and benevolent ruler of the erstwhile Kolhapur State, Shrimant Chhatrapati Maharaja "Rajarshi" Shahu ("the "saintly king") honoured Pandit Vishwanathbuwa Jadhav by offi cially appointing him as the 'darbar gayak' of Kolhapur State. Later the enlightened ruler "Nalwadi" Maharaja Krishnaraj Wodaiyar of Mysore State bestowed upon Pandit Vishwnathbuwa Jadhav the coveted title "Proudh Gandhava" ('a seasoned mature celestial singer'). The virtuous ruler of Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Maharaja Rajaram-III accorded "Proudh Gandharva" and his acclaimed vocalist sons the sobriquet "The Gandharva Parivar of Karveer Nagar". ("The Family of Celestial Singers of Karveer Nagar") or Kolhapur. Pandit Vishwanathbuwa Jadhav was offi cially also instated as 'Rajgayak' ('principal state-musician' of Sangli State by Shrimant Rajasaheb Chintamanrao Dhundirajrao ('Appasaheb-II') Patwardhan of Sangli State. As 'darbar gayak' he also received the patronage of Shrimant Rajasaheb Ganpatrao Madhavrao ('Bapusaheb') Patwardhan of Kurundwad State. In appreciation of Panditji's lifetime contribution to 'Hindustani shastriya sangeet', Pandit Vishwanathbuwa Jadhav was duly felicitated in Delhi by the fi rst President of India-Dr. Rajendra Prasadji. The "Proudh Gandharva" legacy continued to be perpetuated by Pandit B. V. Jadhav, Pandit R.V. Jadhav, Pandit P.V. Jadhav and "Proudh Gandharva"-'s disciple and daughter-in-law Smt. Shakuntalaraje (née Patwardhan) Jadhav, all of whom were extraordinary performer-pedagogues of the 'Kirana gharandaj khayal gayaki' in their own rights. - A. R. Jadhav
