Book Radar Signal Characteristic Extraction with FFT based Techniques

Download or read book Radar Signal Characteristic Extraction with FFT based Techniques written by Jason Ryan Pennington and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This research project develops computationally efficient digital signal processing algorithms for digital wideband receivers to determine the existence of radar signals and, if radar signal(s) are present, extract in real time, pertinent signal characteristics such as frequency, signal power, modulation type, and pulse width. Unlike a conventional communication receiver, the digital wideband receiver algorithms considered in this project assume no a priori knowledge about the number of radar signals and their characteristics. Two types of radar signals, namely, pulsed continuous-wave (CW) and chirping signals, are considered in this thesis. Different techniques are exploited to optimize receiver performance. The receiver algorithms developed in this project can successfully detect multiple signals with different characteristics.

Download or read book Ultrawideband Radar Measurements written by Lev I︠U︡rʹevich Astanin and published by IET. This book was released on 1997 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fast response transistors for ultrawideband (UWB) radar systems and faster computers have prompted novel approaches to theoretical descriptions of such signal systems and solutions to conventional radar problems. According to Astanin (Baltic Technical U., St. Petersburg) and Kostylev (Mozhaisky Military Academy of Space Engineering), UWB has entered a third wave of research interest this decade: the first being tracking of a radar target, and the next, steady oscillation transmission. After introducing definitional, modeling, and measurement issues, they probe target scattering, target responses, UWB signal processing, and design principles and mathematical modeling of UWB radar meters. Book Fourier Transforms in Radar and Signal Processing Second Edition

Download or read book Fourier Transforms in Radar and Signal Processing Second Edition written by David Brandwood and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2012 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fourier transforms are used widely, and are of particular value in the analysis of single functions and combinations of functions found in radar and signal processing. Still, many problems that could have been tackled by using Fourier transforms may have gone unsolved because they require integration that is difficult and tedious. This newly revised and expanded edition of a classic Artech House book provides you with an up-to-date, coordinated system for performing Fourier transforms on a wide variety of functions. Along numerous updates throughout the book, the Second Edition includes a critical new chapter on periodic waveforms a topic not covered in any other book and detailed coverage of asymmetric triangular pulse. By building upon Woodward's well known "Rules and Pairs" method and related concepts and procedures, this book establishes a unified system that makes implicit the integration required for performing Fourier transforms on a wide variety of functions. It details how complex functions can be broken down to their constituent parts for analysis. You can now concentrate on functional relationships instead of getting bogged down in the details of integration. This approach to implementing Fourier transforms is illustrated with many specific examples from digital signal processing as well as radar and antenna operation. DVD-ROM Included! Contains MATLAB programs that implement many of the results presented in the book.

Book General Purpose Digital Signal Processing Architectures for Radar

Download or read book General Purpose Digital Signal Processing Architectures for Radar written by B. Gold and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital signal processing techniques expand the capabilities of modern radars. The central algorithm of radar signal processing is the fast Fourier transform (FFT). However, each radar has several modes and in most cases, environmental factors such as noise and clutter background are not completely understood. For this reason, flexibility of the signal processor is desirable. A method of gaining this flexibility is via general purpose (i.e., programmable) digital signal processing computer structures. In this note, a variety of such structures, both programmable, yet suitable for high speed FFT, are expanded. (Author).
