Download or read book Anechoic and Reverberation Chambers written by Qian Xu and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-01-04 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive review of the recent advances in anechoic chamber and reverberation chamber designs and measurements Anechoic and Reverberation Chambers is a guide to the latest systematic solutions for designing anechoic chambers that rely on state-of-the-art computational electromagnetic algorithms. This essential resource contains a theoretical and practical understanding for electromagnetic compatibility and antenna testing. The solutions outlined optimise chamber performance in the structure, absorber layout and antenna positions whilst minimising the overall cost. The anechoic chamber designs are verified by measurement results from Microwave Vision Group that validate the accuracy of the solution. Anechoic and Reverberation Chambers fills this gap in the literature by providing a comprehensive reference to electromagnetic measurements, applications and over-the-air tests inside chambers. The expert contributors offer a summary of the latest developments in anechoic and reverberation chambers to help scientists and engineers apply the most recent technologies in the field. In addition, the book contains a comparison between reverberation and anechoic chambers and identifies their strengths and weaknesses. This important resource: • Provides a systematic solution for anechoic chamber design by using state-of-the-art computational electromagnetic algorithms • Examines both types of chamber in use: comparing and contrasting the advantages and disadvantages of each • Reviews typical over-the-air measurements and new applications in reverberation chambers • Offers a timely and complete reference written by authors working at the cutting edge of the technology • Contains helpful illustrations, photographs, practical examples and comparison between measurements and simulations Written for both academics and industrial engineers and designers, Anechoic and Reverberation Chambers explores the most recent advances in anechoic chamber and reverberation chamber designs and measurements.

Download or read book Innovation in Propagation of Fruit Vegetable and Ornamental Plants written by Sergio Ruffo Roberto and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-11-04 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In horticulture, plant propagation plays an important role, as the number of plants can be rapidly multiplied, retaining the desirable characteristics of the mother plants, and shortening the bearing age of plants. There are two primary forms of plant propagation: sexual and asexual. In nature, the propagation of plants most often involves sexual reproduction, and this form is still used in several species. Over the years, horticulturists have developed asexual propagation methods that use vegetative plant parts. Innovation in plant propagation has supported breeding programs and allowed the production of high quality nursery plants with the same genetic characteristics of the mother plant, free of diseases or pests.

Download or read book Underground Infrastructures written by R K Goel and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2012-06-19 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Underground facilities, such as tunnels, sewer, water and gas networks form the backbone of the economic life of the modern city. In densely populated areas where the demands for transportation and services are rapidly increasing and the construction of new roads and railways are prohibited, the construction of a tunnel might be the only alternative. Brief and readable, this reference is based on a combined 75 years of field experience and places emphasis is on simple practical rules for designing and planning, underground infrastructures. The books' begins with a clear and rigorous exposition of the classification of underground space, important considerations such as geological and engineering and underground planning. This is followed by self-contained chapters concerning applications for underground water storage, underground car parks, underground metros & road tunnels and underground storage of crude oil, lpg and natural gas. The book has 15 chapters covering various usage of underground space. There are about 135 figures and tables. The book contains about 20 case histories/examples. One of the first book to address all of the major areas in which this technology is used, this book deals with major topics such as: hydroelectric projects with modern planning of complex underground structures; underground storages of food items, crude oil and explosives and highly cautious underground nuclear waste repositories. Rail and road tunnels and TBM are described briefly. Risk management in underground infrastructures is of vital importance. Civil Engineers, Mining Engineers, and Geotechnical Engineers will find this book a valuable guide to designing and planning underground infrastructures both in terms of its applications. - Risk management method for underground infrastructures - Vital tips for the underground storage of food, water, crude oil, natural gas and munitions - Provides design tips for Underground Parking Facilities - Instruction for the designing planning and construction for underground Metros and road tunnels - Planning and design of underground nuclear waste repositories - Clearly explains the benefits and drawbacks of underground facilities - Quick guide to the various modern mechanical underground parking options - Explanation of construction planning and Risk management - Places expert advice for planning and constructing projects at the finger tips

Download or read book Colloids and Interfaces in Oil Recovery written by Spencer Taylor and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-06-21 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is well-known that colloid and interface science and petroleum production are inextricably linked. Whether in the reservoir, with its porous structure, or during recovery, crude oil is intimately associated with rock surfaces and with water, often in the form of emulsions. This situation leads to highly complex systems, comprising multiple colloids and interfaces, which require to be optimized if oil is to be recovered efficiently, both in terms of economic cost and with due concern for the environment. This book contains a compilation of contemporary research topics which illustrate various aspects of the importance of colloids and interfaces in crude oil recovery through modifying conditions between the rock, crude oil, and water in the reservoir, in order to achieve improved oil recovery. The specific topics covered relate both to conventional oils, in which waterflooding is the most common secondary and tertiary means of recovery, and to non-conventional heavy oil and natural bitumen, which require thermal recovery methods, owing to their high viscosity.
