Book Catch Up Little Cheetah

Download or read book Catch Up Little Cheetah written by Michele Coxon and published by Star Bright Books. This book was released on 1999 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mother Cheetah encourages her cubs to run fast, but the smallest one cannot keep up and decides to go exploring. She encounters ten interesting African animals, each one hidden behind a flap on the page. Two scary eyes peering from behind a flap belong to a harmless owl butterfly. There are several species of butterflies that scare off predators in this way. The theme of teaching cheetah cubs to run fast is well-chosen because cheetahs can only survive by outrunning their prey.

Book Just a Little Lion

Download or read book Just a Little Lion written by Gina J. Cook and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-08 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What happens when a little cheetah plays with a little lion, despite his mother’s warning? It’s the same thing that happens when we play around with little lies, despite God’s warning. This adventurous allegory poetically and vividly teaches that there are some things that look innocent and charming yet carry with them beastly consequences. Parents will be able to use this book to help teach their children the consequences of any sin, even “little” lies, as well as teaching them the importance of listening to warnings and instructions given by their parents and, above all, by God.

One wore a blue pinstripe suit, white shirt, red satin tie, navy blue alligator shoes and a Borsalino that was carefully broken down just right, shadowing his handsome face. His fingers were laced in diamonds and he carried a cane with the head of a lion with jeweled eyes. In front of him came in a slender gentlemen, dress in a black suit and dark shades he was called Decipher. He was the one that made sure the room was clear standing with his back against the opened door gun in hand. The man with the cane walked into the room stepping over dead bodies. He quickly went into the bedroom he removed the recliner that protected the hidden floor compartment. He opened the compartment door and removed the infant she was fine. She smiled up at him and through all that chaos she never made a sound. He pulled her close to his chest and kissed her on the forehead. Before leaving he removed several envelopes from the compartment and money that was stacked in hundred dollar increments. He walked over to Ebony's body and removed the sterling silver heart locket from her neck. He and the gentlemen left. Sirens echoed from a short distance, the boys in blue were coming it was only two hours later.

Download or read book Our Animal Connection written by Michael Hehenberger and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-12-09 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers the many ways humans benefit from interactions with other living species. By studying animals of all kinds and sizes, from microbial organisms to elephants and whales, we can learn about their adaptations to extreme conditions on the planet Earth, about the evolutionary development of specialized capabilities, and about their ways to defend themselves against predators and diseases. The authors discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Homo sapiens, and how the study of animals can make us stronger and healthier. To deepen our knowledge of genetics, molecular and cell biology, physiology and medicine, we need to study model organisms. To cure human disease, we can learn from animals how they have evolved ways to protect themselves. To improve human performance, we can study the animal kingdom’s top performers and learn from their successes. Considering these important pointers, the authors review genetic engineering techniques that can translate our existing and future animal connections into benefits for human health and performance. Finally, they discuss the challenges associated with our animal connection: the history of pandemics caused by bacterial and viral pathogens demonstrates that there is a risk for transmission of diseases that can disrupt human societies. The recent COVID-19 outbreak is covered in detail as an example.
