Being an individual, love, honor, hard work, and pride became the foundation that would shape me into the man that I am. I have always had a love for art and its ability to be a vehicle for expression. Growing up I expressed myself through sketching, painting, and sculpting, but I wasnt able to relay my true thoughts, until I started comprising poetry. Poems trapped in my head, forgotten notebooks of thoughts I shed, and those slips of random paper, everything from envelopes to receipts, had become the warehouse of my expressions. Thank God for friends and family, they encouraged me to chase my dreams, and write this book. We are but echoes of memories on the wings of space and time, living immortally in the hearts and minds of those we have touched. It is my purpose, my hope, and my dream, to stimulate the heart and mind of whomever may read this book. It is my attempt to express and release my thoughts, so that you, my readers, may have a taste of who I am. If, but one person reads, and is positively inspired by my words, then this book will have serve

Her farm-to-table collard greens have long been bringing everyone to the yard, but limits on the restaurant’s size have led to long waits. Looking to expand the restaurant, she enters a televised chef competition. The problem? Her infuriatingly-talented nemesis from culinary school also enters. To the culinary world, Knox Everheart is restaurant royalty. As much as Rowan wants to deny it, he’s a gifted chef. Rowan knows her arrogant arch-nemesis is confident he’ll win—he’s certainly given her a run for her money more times than she’d like to admit. But this time, she’s ready to show him who's boss. Their rivalry soon sparks fireworks in the kitchen and, as the competition heats up, so does Rowan’s attraction to Knox. And somewhere between pasta and gumbo, they both need to decide what’s worth fighting for.

Book Leather Soul

Download or read book Leather Soul written by Bob Murphy and published by Black Inc.. This book was released on 2019-07-02 with total page 303 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘A young, naive kid, with a brand-new football. Over time, the leather aged from the bumps along the trail. The Footscray winters and some glorious liniment-scented afternoons. All of the laughs, the scraps, the yarns and characters. The game. It all left a mark on me, on my soul.’ Bob Murphy has never been a typical footballer. Music buff, Age columnist and Winnebago driver, he is as comfortable in a quiet corner of a Fitzroy café or the front bar of a grungy pub as he is in the locker room. Murphy takes the reader inside his 17-year career, including his three years as captain of the Bulldogs, exploring the people, places and events that shaped him: from playing backyard cricket in 1980s Warragul to Community Cup with Paul Kelly in the 2000s, and from the joy of marrying his high-school crush to the agony of a season-ending ACL ruptures. How did the country kid with a gypsy’s heart become an All-Australian captain? What’s it like to have your club win the grand final for the first time in 62 years and have to cheer from the sidelines? How does it feel to realise you can no longer do the things that made you great? The celebrated Australian football bard Martin Flanagan has long insisted Bob Murphy has a book in him like no footballer has written. Leather Soul proves him right.

Book A Taste for Distraction

    Book Details:
  • Author : Never Hall
  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2005-07-29
  • ISBN : 9781469115788
  • Pages : 149 pages

Download or read book A Taste for Distraction written by Never Hall and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2005-07-29 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Taste For Distraction is a collage of all of what I consider to be my most significant thoughts, poems, prose, beliefs, and dreams. Those that best describe my self... my views. The truths of the world, in plain words. In the beginning, writing was my way of coping with the world around me. Later, it became my way of understanding it. Then my way of revealing what I’d learned to others, as well as a form of expression. What you will read in this book are the very thoughts and dreams that make up the plains of my evolution from boy to man, from man to human, from human to Never. What you will learn is the inner most part of me... exactly how I view myself, and everyone around me. And hopefully you will feel the truth of it all. This book was not written to make you believe or follow anything you might find here. It was written to make you think. It was written to make you question why people make it a common practice to shake off the deepest thoughts, or the strongest desires and call them daydreams or fantasies. It was written to make you question why so many surrender their dreams to settle for something they don’t want, or don’t believe in. It was written to make you question why we never say what we really want to say... shrug off our truest feelings, and shake our heads to say, “I’m sorry. I got distracted.” I can only hope that we are all distracted from time to time. Enjoy.

Book This Will Make It Taste Good

Download or read book This Will Make It Taste Good written by Vivian Howard and published by Voracious. This book was released on 2020-10-20 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An Eater Best Cookbook of Fall 2020 From caramelized onions to fruit preserves, make home cooking quick and easy with ten simple "kitchen heroes" in these 125 recipes from the New York Times bestselling and award-winning author of Deep Run Roots. “I wrote this book to inspire you, and I promise it will change the way you cook, the way you think about what’s in your fridge, the way you see yourself in an apron.” Vivian Howard’s first cookbook chronicling the food of Eastern North Carolina, Deep Run Roots, was named one of the best of the year by 18 national publications, including the New York Times, USA Today, Bon Appetit, and Eater, and won an unprecedented four IACP awards, including Cookbook of the Year. Now, Vivian returns with an essential work of home-cooking genius that makes simple food exciting and accessible, no matter your skill level in the kitchen. Each chapter of This Will Make It Taste Good is built on a flavor hero—a simple but powerful recipe like her briny green sauce, spiced nuts, fruit preserves, deeply caramelized onions, and spicy pickled tomatoes. Like a belt that lends you a waist when you’re feeling baggy, these flavor heroes brighten, deepen, and define your food. Many of these recipes are kitchen crutches, dead-easy, super-quick meals to lean on when you’re limping toward dinner. There are also kitchen projects, adventures to bring some more joy into your life. Vivian’s mission is not to protect you from time in your kitchen, but to help you make the most of the time you’ve got. Nothing is complicated, and more than half the dishes are vegetarian, gluten-free, or both. These recipes use ingredients that are easy to find, keep around, and cook with—lots of chicken, prepared in a bevy of ways to keep it interesting, and common vegetables like broccoli, kale, squash, and sweet potatoes that look good no matter where you shop. And because food is the language Vivian uses to talk about her life, that’s what these recipes do, next to stories that offer a glimpse at the people, challenges, and lessons learned that stock the pantry of her life.
