Book excerpt: Herbert Cooper was headed down a very different road, living a reckless lifestyle that would have destroyed him in the end, but God had a different plan. He heard the gospel at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting, at which he wasn’t even supposed to be, and he gave his life to Christ. Two words changed Cooper’s life: But God. These two words can change every single person’s life— But God. Each word is only three letters long. The phrase is short, but the implications are huge. The path may look bleak, dim, and hopeless...but GOD changes everything... We’ve all sinned - whether it is sex outside of marriage, a bitter heart, alcohol or drug abuse, cheating, or lying. Maybe you’re at a place in your life where it just feels like things are falling apart. Perhaps you’re portraying one thing on the outside and living something else on the inside. Maybe you are simply going through the motions of a life that’s not quite what you hoped it would be. These moments drag us down - leaving us feeling hopeless and lost. You need something to happen in your life to change. You need a But God... moment. The But God moments are when God comes in and offers a new path and hope for our lives. These moments occur when we are at are lowest, and turn our down-trodden worlds around for the better. It is up to us to recognize and seize these moments when they occur and follow the renewed path God offers.

  • Author : Casey Lute
  • Publisher : Cruciform Press

  • ISBN : 1936760193
  • Pages : 78 pages

Download or read book But God written by Casey Lute and published by Cruciform Press. This book was released on 2011-05 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just two words: "But God..." Understand their use in Scripture and you'll never be the same. Whether from the pen of Moses, Paul, or other biblical authors, "But God" appears in various forms hundreds of times in the Bible. To understand these two words as they are used in Scripture is to understand the gospel. This book focuses on nine of the most important appearances of this key phrase, drawing in numerous other passages of Scripture and in the process unfolding the magnificent drama of God's sovereign grace--from his mercy on Noah to our security in a resurrected Savior. James Montgomery Boice wrote, "May I put it quite simply? If you understand those two words--'but God'--they will save your soul. If you recall them daily and live by them, they will transform your life completely." Boice was right. To the left of "But God" in Scripture appear some of the worst human atrocities, characterized by disobedience and rebellion. To the left of "But God" is hopelessness, darkness, and death. But to its right, following "But God," readers of Scripture will find hope, light, and life. Following God's intervention, the story of Scripture becomes one of grace, righteousness, and justice. In fact, this phrase is used to describe God's activity in nearly every great salvation story in the Bible. It is the perfect phrase for highlighting God's grace against the dark backdrop of human sin. "But God" marks God's relentless, merciful interventions in human history. It teaches us that God does not wait for us to bring ourselves to him, but that he acts first to bring about our good. It also teaches us of the potential consequences if God were not to act. Scripture shows over and over that without God's intervening grace, without the "But God" statements in the Bible, the world would be completely lost in sin and under judgment. May the reading of this book, and of the biblical "But God" statements it contains, cause you to understand these two words, recall them regularly, and allow them to transform your understanding of God's grace and thus transform your very life.

Book Chronicles with God Volume Two

Download or read book Chronicles with God Volume Two written by Christopher Raj and published by Partridge Publishing Singapore. This book was released on 2019-10-21 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is all the sermons I heard coming from the pulpit of the Church. Messages from the sermons could mean many things to people according to each person’s walk with God, meaning in all theses there is always a still voice of the Holy Spirit who speaks specifically to current situation and or your walk with God according to the purpose in which God has called you. I always had a desire in my heart to share that word of God to people who wants to hear him. I know with reading of this book you will be edified. There is no meaning to life unless it is purpose driven. Have a fulfilled life as he speaks to you as he did with me. We must learn to listen to that still voice of God. What I have written, is all about that still voice of God coming from the many man or Prophets of God. 10/17/19 The book contains a series of messages that came from the Pulpit while I was attending Metrotabernale, a church in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Being a Human Resources practitioner specialising people management, I realise people are a sum total of what they think. Attitudes and behaviour are a result of their past experience and or based on the cultures. The value system and prejudices are based on the thought process that has been accumulated over the years. The only way to change this if it wrong, is to know your creator and the purpose for which you are created. Roman 8 verses 28-30 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. We are called according to his purpose, we are predestined, we are justified and we will also be glorified This book will help to find that purpose for a fulfilled life. Our life is not our own but for others who God places in our life. This book will help those who are searching their God given purpose. It will also help as a guide to Christians or Preachers who need guidance to preach the word of God. We are all not perfect including me. This book will help us walk this life towards perfection until that day. 2 Timothy 4 verse 7 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Chronicle with God, will help you to fight a good fight, finish the race while you keep your faith.

Book Ten Ways to Weave the World Matter Mind and God Volume 2

Download or read book Ten Ways to Weave the World Matter Mind and God Volume 2 written by Ross Thompson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-01-25 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this sequel to Outgrowing Materialism, Thompson explores five conceptual “Worlds” that preceded the dualist v. materialist divide and shows why recent philosophy—often little-known outside of academic circles—is now giving these old ideas a new relevance. In an approachable way, but without avoiding complexity, Embodying Mind leads the reader through the Worlds of panpsychism, idealism, Aristotelianism, emergence, and information theory, holism, and process theology, examining the ideas of ethics and God, and the difficult questions, accompanying each. Thompson concludes that causal processes harmonize as in a cosmic counterpoint. The world and its beautiful contents form a seamless material whole. It is not as if Mind or God glints obscurely through ever-narrowing chinks in otherwise seamless nature. There are no chinks, but the whole is full of Mind. Overall, imperfectly, things are moving towards their sustaining good: God is becoming God, surpassing God. Embodying Mind can be read independently from Outgrowing Materialism, but together the two volumes of Ten Ways to Weave the Word mount a robust, wide-ranging case that nobody interested in the science v. religion debate, or wishing more widely for an integrated understanding of “Matter, Mind and God,” can afford to ignore.

Book For the Love of God Vol 2

Download or read book For the Love of God Vol 2 written by D. A. Carson and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2006-07-10 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world that views absolute truth, right and wrong, and salvation as being subject to individual interpretation, the Bible's unwavering proclamations and miraculous stories seem obsolete in modern times. But it is not God's Word that has changed. Indeed, its relevancy and its power to transform lives are intact. What has changed is the number of people who consult it. Now more than ever the need to read the Bible, to understand the big picture of its storyline, and to grasp the relevance this has for your life is critical. As with its companion volume, For the Love of God-Volume 1 , this devotional contains a systematic 365-day plan, based on the M'Cheyne Bible-reading schedule, that will in the course of a year guide you through the New Testament and Psalms twice and the rest of the Old Testament once. In so doing, D. A. Carson completes the work he began in the first book. In an effort to help preserve biblical thinking and living, D. A. Carson has also written thought-provoking comments and reflections regarding each day's scriptural passages. And, most uniquely, he offers you perspective that places each reading into the larger framework of history and God's eternal plan to deepen your understanding of his sovereignty-and the unity and power of his Word.

Book Genesis Abraham The Friend of God Volume 2 Chapters 12 25 10

Download or read book Genesis Abraham The Friend of God Volume 2 Chapters 12 25 10 written by Practical Christianity Foundation and published by Practical Christianity Foundation. This book was released on 2020-08-10 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Genesis chapter twelve opens, the narrative picks up on the story of Abram, the tenth generation of Shem’s progeny. God directed Abram to move to a land that the Lord would show to him. Slowly, faithfully, generation after generation, the Lord directs, guides, and corrects Abram and his descendants through the annals of His redemption, fulfilling His promise of redemption in the birth of Jesus, Who directly descended from Abraham, through Whom all of the nations would be blest. Conceived by God’s Spirit, Jesus was also God’s Son, the Lamb of God sacrificed for the sins of the world, through Whom the creating, redeeming Lord of all creation would bring his wayward people back home to Him where they will praise His glorious Name for all eternity. The book of Genesis is not only the first book of the Bible detailing the beginnings of Creation and life as we know it, but also serves as the over-arching and pervasive sacred reference for the true understanding of the entire Bible as intended by the Author, God, the Spirit of Truth.

Book Questions to God Volume Two

Download or read book Questions to God Volume Two written by Ronald F. Peters and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2018-04-26 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Questions to God" is written in four volumes: Volume 1. The Mystery of Life after Death Volume 2. The actual doctrine of King Jesus Volume 3. How to hear the Voice of King Jesus Volume 4. Messed Up Families ____________ The Christian Holy Bible says there are two baptisms. Nicodemus was told in St. John 3:5 “except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God." There is water baptism, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. What makes them both very important? God made two contracts with earth people, called covenants. What has changed in the second contract? These contracts are only valid and legal, if they are officially accepted. Today, we accept contracts with an official signature. The first contract was accepted by circumcision. If a male wasn’t circumcised, he did not have a valid contract with God. How is the second covenant to be accepted and validated? When King Jesus left planet earth, and knowing that he was leaving for many centuries, what five things did he instruct us to do? Is God flexible, and is he democratic? How does God want us to be involved with politics? You’ll be amazed at what God actually says.
