Book Builders of the Tabernacle

Download or read book Builders of the Tabernacle written by Kay Fairchild and published by eBookIt.com. This book was released on 2013-02 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book we give an overall description of God's plan for all mankind. There are numerous messages such as the present Resurrection, showing that resurrection is not merely the experience of those who die physically, but for anyone wanting to experience a deeper oneness in God. We also show Old Testament types of the Person and Work of Christ, and what that means to us. We look at advancing in the Most Holy Place, God's Apology to man, the generation of Jesus Christ, the stones in the breastplate of the high priest, and how we can be a partaker of what most believe to be merely historical. We explore other truths for those who are seeking a fuller understanding of the Bible.

Book The Tabernacle s Typical Teaching

Download or read book The Tabernacle s Typical Teaching written by Algernon James Pollock and published by Scripture Truth. This book was released on 2009-07 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Algernon James Pollock's classic volume is an exposition of "types" - people, places, objects, events, offices, activities and institutions - connected with the Tabernacle, the Priesthood, the Offerings and the Feasts (particularly as described in the first five books of the Old Testament) which foreshadow their corresponding New Testament "antitypes" - most particularly Christ Himself. The author wrote in a postscript to the first edition: "The reward of this modest volume will be if it whets the appetite of the reader, leading him to desire to know more of these wondrous subjects. The theme is delightful indeed as it leads the heart into contact with Christ, subduing it by a deepening sense of the meaning of the death of Christ, leading out at the same time the affections of the heart to Him to Whom the believer owes everything for time and eternity." Elsewhere he once wrote: "We appeal to our readers, especially young men and women, to give the Bible a fair trial. Read it, study it, and seek earnestly the truth." The publishers commend this book to you as an aid to such study, confident that as you read, your appreciation will grow of the wonder of the One who is indeed the Tabernacle's true Theme, and is Himself the Truth.

Book God at Work

  • Author : Gene Edward Veith Jr.
  • Publisher : Crossway
  • Release : 2011-08-02

Download or read book God at Work written by Gene Edward Veith Jr. and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2011-08-02 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When you understand it properly, the doctrine of vocation—"doing everything for God's glory"—is not a platitude or an outdated notion. This principle that we vaguely apply to our lives and our work is actually the key to Christian ethics, to influencing our culture for Christ, and to infusing our ordinary, everyday lives with the presence of God. For when we realize that the "mundane" activities that consume most of our time are "God's hiding places," our perspective changes. Culture expert Gene Veith unpacks the biblical, Reformation teaching about the doctrine of vocation, emphasizing not what we should specifically do with our time or what careers we are called to, but what God does in and through our callings—even within the home. In each task He has given us—in our workplaces and families, our churches and society—God Himself is at work. Veith guides you to discover God's purpose and calling in those seemingly ordinary areas by providing you with a spiritual framework for thinking about such issues and for acting upon them with a changed perspective.

Book Construction of the Tabernacle

Download or read book Construction of the Tabernacle written by Ephraim M. Epstein and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-01-16 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the PUBLISHER'S PREFACE. MUCH has been written and published about the construction of the Tabernacle and the Temple, but modern investigators have naturally acquired a habit of studying all the theories that have been propounded by their predecessors, whereupon they select from these traditional interpretations what they deem most probable. Dr. Epstein, however, forms an exception to this rule. He belongs to an old generation. He is by birth an Israelite and has grown up in the old-fashioned way of Jewish tradition. He reads and speaks Hebrew fluently, and is as familiar with the Biblical text as devout modern Christians frequently are with the King James version. His interpretation is based upon the original Hebrew, and he has com- pared his views with other explanations only after having formed his own opinion. Dr. Epstein contributed to The Monist an article on "The Mosaic Names of God" (July, 1907), wherein he expressed his opinion (p. 393) that the author of the 110th Psalm shows his belief in a Christ when saying, "The Lord said unto my Lord!" This is a straw in the wind explanatory of his conversion to Christianity, and it drew upon him some criticism from his former coreligionists. The problem of the nature of the Tabernacle is independent of the question whether or not the Tabernacle existed. It may have been a pure invention as is now commonly believed by critics. The problem of the exegetist is above all an expression of the meaning of the text and what the author of these passages meant to describe, and here Dr. Epstein is the best man to give us a correct answer. Even among rabbis the knowledge of Hebrew as a living tongue has become rare, and here we have an unbiased rendering of the text as it impresses itself upon a man who has grown up in the language of holy writ. A test of the value of Dr. Epstein's conception seems to be that the construction of the Tabernacle ap- pears not only feasible but practical....

Download or read book Building God s House written by Charles Babers and published by . This book was released on 2023-02-24 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume covers the creation of God's house in its various forms - the Tabernacle, Solomon's Temple, Herod's Temple, etc. Almost as soon as Israel was established as a nation after their liberation from bondage in Egypt, God instructed Moses to construct a house for Him where He could meet with His people, and dwell among His people. God gave Moses detailed directions for the construction of the Tabernacle, a large cloth tent, and all its wooden, cloth, iron, brass, silver and golden fittings and furnishings. The Tabernacle remained the principal House of God in Israel for approximately five hundred years. After David died, Solomon began to build the Temple during the fourth year of his reign as king. The construction was completed during the eleventh year of his reign. Besides being made of sturdier materials and being immobile, the biggest differences between the Tabernacle and Solomon's Temple were in the sizes and quantities of the Temple's elements. Solomon's Temple was used for a period of approximately four hundred and twenty years before it was destroyed by Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar when he attacked and destroyed Jerusalem. Thereafter, Israel had neither Temple nor Tabernacle for seventy years, until Persian King Cyrus attacked and defeated the Babylonians and gave Ezra the Israelite scribe permission to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple there. This Second Temple is often called the Temple of Zerubbabel, as he was a prominent Israelite who supervised its construction. During the time of Jesus, the temple rebuilt by Zerubbabel was repaired and expanded by King Herod. It was that temple to which Jesus went on many occasions when he was in Jerusalem.

As readers tour this amazing interpretive construction with Hershberger, they will be delighted to see figures of Christ where they least expected to find them. The smallest details are given significance in this great symbolic foreshadowing of Christ and His Church. This book has served many through personal studies and group studies.
