Book Build Like An Ant How My Mom Helped Me Become Valedictorian

Download or read book Build Like An Ant How My Mom Helped Me Become Valedictorian written by DJ Chung and published by Hyperink Inc. This book was released on 2012-07-24 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: DJ Chung gives you his mother's stories and lessons that helped him become valedictorian of a large, competitive public high school and gain entry into Duke University. These lessons will provide you with a roadmap on how to gain the essential skills necessary to realize the ultimate goal of becoming valedictorian. Build Like an Ant will show you how a devoted mother's wisdom can help you reach high goals during the ever increasingly competitive, stressful and pressure-filled time called, high school. To Anyone With A Dream, Becoming valedictorian was about more than just being the head of my class. It was about setting a huge goal for myself and committing to achieving it. Without my mother, I don't know that I would have had the ambition to dream so big or the confidence to go for it. Thanks to Mama Chung, I have learned that any goal is achievable as long as you know how to approach it and have the right attitude. I've realized how lucky I am to have a mother who supports and encourages me. I've realized too that her stories are relevant to many people and the lessons can be applied to any goal. That's why I wrote this book. Mama Chung's sayings are just too good to go unrecorded! From "build like an ant" to "keep adding tools to your toolbox" to "don't just stand in the kitchen," my mother always knows the right thing to say to get me thinking and to get me moving. I hope that reading my book inspires you to achieve your goals and gives you the tools you need to succeed. Best of luck to you ... and don't forget to tell your mom "thanks!" -DJ Chung

So even though she still has to see her ex-boyfriend Elliott at newspaper club, Jenna is going to be totally heartless this semester -- no boys, just books. But keeping her cool isn't always easy. Jenna's chief competition for a big journalism scholarship is none other than Elliott. Her best friend Keiko always seems busy with her own boyfriend. And cute-but-incredibly-annoying Rin Watanabe keeps stealing her booth at the diner she's been hiding at every day after school. Rin is every bit as stubborn and detached as Jenna. And the more Jenna gets to know him, the more intriguing a mystery he seems. Soon Jenna is starting to realize that being a loner is kind of, well, lonely. And letting people in might just be a risk worth taking.

Book Lessons From a Third Grade Dropout

Download or read book Lessons From a Third Grade Dropout written by Rick Rigsby and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2006-08-06 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: * USA Today and Wall Street Journal best seller* Be inspired by the book behind the graduation speech by Dr. Rick Rigsby’s– now with 100+ million views on Facebook and YouTube. After his wife died, Rick Rigsby was ready to give up. The bare minimum was good enough. Rigsby was content to go through the motions, living out his life as a shell of himself. But then he remembered the lessons his father taught him years before - something insanely simple, yet incredibly profound. These lessons weren’t in advanced mathematics or the secrets of the stock market. They were quite straightforward, in fact, for Rigsby’s father never made it through third grade. But if this uneducated man’s instructions were powerful enough to produce a Ph.D. and a judge – imagine what they can do for you. Join Rigsby as he dusts off time-tested beliefs and finds brilliantly simple answers to modern society’s questions. In a magnificent testament to the “Greatest Generation” which gave so much and asked so little in return, Lessons from a Third Grade Dropout will challenge you while reigniting your passion to lead a truly fulfilling life. After all, it’s never too late to learn a little bit more about life – just ask the third-grade dropout.
