Download or read book Bedtime Stories That May Go Bump in the Night written by Margaret Bloom and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-09-28 with total page 49 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book I have written for your enjoyment, Bedtime Stories That May Go Bump in the Night is ten short stories that lend either a little scare or humor and are all a work of fiction. “The Prize,” the first story in the collection, is about a troubled man whose problems overwhelm him. Is he a criminal? This story has lots of bumps. “Mr. Marlo Monster Hunter” is about a six-year-old boy who learns special skills to deal with scary situations and teaches them to others. This story has a few bumps. Marvin’s Adventures is about a purple bunny; his best friend, Betty; the fashionista dancing cow; and a few of his other friends and the adventures they find on and around the farm. More adventure than bumps. “Extraordinary Pillow Guy” is a Texan pillow who tells tall tales. He stretches the truth to unbelievable lengths. This one has a few bumps. There are two stories in this title. “Tastie Frees” is an action story that has a few bumps. The Frees family is being hunted, and eight-year-old Tastie has been left in a panic room. “Desert Soldiers” is a poem about the unexpected. More excitement than bumps. “Spots” is about twin leopards being returned to the wild and what happens. Expect a few bumps. “The Three Somethings or Other” is my take on the three little pigs. Humor, recipes, and a few bumps. “Hey, Jude” is an adventure story about a helpful ant. More adventure than bumps. I hope you enjoy this collection. It will be followed soon by Bedtime Stories That May Go Bump in the Night 2.

Book excerpt: Live your best life—even after your kids leave home When her children left for college, Melissa Shultz was certain that she had prepared them well for their new lives-but her own life was a different matter entirely. Her house was empty, her purpose unclear. If her life was no longer dominated by the day-to-day demands of being "Mom," then who exactly was she? And how would she ever move forward? From Mom to Me Again is the story of one woman's reinvention. Shultz's struggle with the empty nest and the transformation of her marriage, friendships, career, and ultimately herself, is part memoir and part self-help guide. Funny, poignant, and practical, this book tells Shultz's personal story and provides valuable advice for readers preparing to send their children off into the world. She shows women that while they'll always be mothers, it's time for them to take center stage in their own lives once again.

Book Paddling the Yukon River and its Tributaries

Download or read book Paddling the Yukon River and its Tributaries written by Dan Maclean and published by Publication Consultants. This book was released on 2005-08-01 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Paddling the Yukon River and its Tributaries covers more than 4,000 miles of watery trail. The Yukon, Tanana, Porcupine, Koyukuk, and Kuskokwim Rivers are the five longest rivers in Alaska, extending into the Yukon Territory. This water flows freely, almost entirely undammed. Salmon surge against current. Moose, bears, and wolves wander the banks. Birds swarm in spectacular density. Roads rarely cross. Many residents live a subsistence lifestyle. No permits are required to be here. These channels are a natural path through the last large wilderness in North America.Paddling the Yukon River and its Tributaries approaches journeys of this magnitude like a through-hiker on the Appalachian Trail, but with a canoe or kayak. Each river is described from beginning to end, detailing access points, resupply options, and navigation tips throughout the flow. There are 35 original maps. Although the approach assumes long voyages, information is supplied for a range of trip lengths. Anything from an afternoon to a weekend to a week to a two-month float is possible. Paddling the Yukon River and its Tributaries is the only guide book to paddling the entire Yukon River from beginning to end.

But once in the new continent, the giant beasts disappeared, whether into hiding or extinction, no one knew. Centuries later, a battered journal—the only evidence left from the night of the Romanovs' execution—turns up in a rare bookstore. As the U.S. and Russians vie for the truth, and the lost Romanov treasure, they collide with a prehistoric predator thought long-extinct. It's up to the Event Group to lay to rest the legends.
