Based on the findings derived from this study, advice is offered to those now involved in the promotion and translation of Chinese culture and literature. In all these enslaved nations Resistance movements sprang up and they took various forms, one of the most important of which was the work of the illegal press. For each professional title listed in English, the five-language "Glossary of Occupations" provides German, French, Italian and Spanish equivalents.
