Book Born Wise

Download or read book Born Wise written by Lena Dyhrberg and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2014-06-03 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For generations it has been the common perception that children are inarticulate little creatures who, like empty shells, must be filled with knowledge and experiences. However, according to family health nurse Lena Dyhrberg, this is not at all the case. Your child arrives in this world with a highly developed intuition and knowledge, and your child understands everything you say. In this book she gives numerous examples of how she, by talking with children, has helped families eradicate everything from colic to chronic colds in addition to helping them through difficult life crises. Born Wise also tackles todays tendency to turn children into projects and parenting into a science. Lena Dyhrberg takes us by the hand and lovingly shows us how simply it can be done. Mette Moellevang, journalist This is an absolutely brilliant book. The author, Lena Dyhrberg, has the eyes of a psychologist, anthropologist, nurse, and experienced mother. • ISBN : 1607993147
  • Pages : 324 pages

Download or read book Rapture and Revelation written by R. G. Brock and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2009-10 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is not written for Christians alone, but is written for anyone who desires to know the near future. Study helps and materials are listed along with instructions which will give any one the means to understand even the most difficult scriptures in the Bible, which is the most accurate of any book on end time events. With many books on the subject, none are as telling and straight forward as Rapture and Revelation. While there are many fears concerning the end times, author R G. Brock embarks on the task to unravel the mysteries of the Rapture and Revelation. While attending Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, R G. Brock had the privilege of being taught by well-known author and teacher brother Kenneth Hagin, Sr. who has since went home to be with Jesus. After being inspired by one of Hagin's lectures, Brock obeyed his strong urge to write a book on the end times. This heart-gripping treatise will guide you into the truth as you uncover the mystery of the end of times. This book is written to give you a clear incite into the end of this age. The end begins with peace when a worldwide 7 year peace agreement is signed in the next few years which will be backed by a one world government run by the United Nations. Then in the middle of the 7 year period, the peace agreement will be broken and all hell literally breaks loose which leads to a time of trouble such as never has been or ever will be again. During this time of the last 3 1/2 years, which is called great tribulation, most of the people on the earth will die. However, if you are a Christian you will not go through this terrible time. You will find this book is the most in-depth study on what is called 'the rapture, ' which is the catching away of the Christians to not go through great tribulation, and you will find that it is by far the most in-depth study of 'The Revelation' which shows what will happen during this time of great trouble

Book Chinese Views of Childhood

Download or read book Chinese Views of Childhood written by Anne B. Kenney and published by University of Hawaii Press. This book was released on 1995-10-01 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chinese in the twentieth century, intent on modernizing their country, condemned their inherited culture in part on the grounds that it was oppressive to the young. The authors of this pioneering volume provide us with the evidence to re-examine those charges. Drawing on sources ranging from art to medical treatises, fiction, and funerary writings, they separate out the many complexities in the Chinese cultural construction of childhood and the ways it has changed over time. Listening to how Chinese talked about children--whether their own child, the abstract child in need of education or medical care, the ideal precocious child, or the fictional child--lets us assess in concrete terms the structures and values that underlay Chinese life.

Book Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament

Download or read book Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament written by G. Johannes Botterweck and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 1974 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This multivolume work is still proving to be as fundamental to Old Testament studies as its companion set, the Kittel-Friedrich Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, has been to New Testament studies. Beginning with father, and continuing through the alphabet, the TDOT volumes present in-depth discussions of the key Hebrew and Aramaic words in the Old Testament. Leading scholars of various religious traditions (including Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Reformed, Anglican, Greek Orthodox, and Jewish) and from many parts of the world (Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States) have been carefully selected for each article by editors Botterweck, Ringgren, and Fabry and their consultants, George W. Anderson, Henri Cazelles, David Noel Freedman, Shemaryahu Talmon, and Gerhard Wallis. The intention of the writers is to concentrate on meaning, starting from the more general, everyday senses and building to an understanding of theologically significant concepts. To avoid artificially restricting the focus of the articles, TDOT considers under each keyword the larger groups of words that are related linguistically or semantically. The lexical work includes detailed surveys of a word s occurrences, not only in biblical material but also in other ancient Near Eastern writings. Sumerian, Akkadian, Egyptian, Ethiopic, Ugaritic, and Northwest Semitic sources are surveyed, among others, as well as the Qumran texts and the Septuagint; and in cultures where no cognate word exists, the authors often consider cognate ideas. TDOT s emphasis, though, is on Hebrew terminology and on biblical usage. The contributors employ philology as well as form-critical and traditio-historical methods, with the aim of understanding the religious statements in the Old Testament. Extensive bibliographical information adds to the value of this reference work. This English edition attempts to serve the needs of Old Testament students without the linguistic background of more advanced scholars; it does so, however, without sacrificing the needs of the latter. Ancient scripts (Hebrew, Greek, etc.) are regularly transliterated in a readable way, and meanings of foreign words are given in many cases where the meanings might be obvious to advanced scholars. Where the Hebrew text versification differs from that of English Bibles, the English verse appears in parentheses. Such features will help all earnest students of the Bible to avail themselves of the manifold theological insights contained in this monumental work.
