Book Born to Score

Download or read book Born to Score written by Dwight Yorke and published by Pan Macmillan. This book was released on 2009-10-02 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dwight Yorke has been one of the most successful and prolific goalscorers in the Premier League's history over the past decade. He was known first at Aston Villa and then Manchester United for his permanent smile, smoothness and flair - and for making headlines both on and off the pitch. He was a key member of Manchester United's treble-winning 1999 season and formed a deadly strike parterships with Andy Cole. His subsequent clubs have been Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City, Sydney FC and Sunderland. Yorke came to be seen as the epitome of a young, successful, rich lifestyle, and he makes no apology for doing what a lot of young, single men would have done with sporting prowess, adulation and money. But it was his relationship with Katie Price (Jordan) among others which propelled him onto the gossip pages. He's the father of their son Harvey, and he talks for the first time about the hurt of being branded a bad dad who didn't care. Having never spoken out before, Dwight, nearing retirement, wants to tell his side, and from the heart. It's the story of a boy who followed his football dreams from Tobago's white beaches to England's lush stadia and who, having been given a miraculous second chance to live aged two, risked losing everything he held dear. This is his fascinating story.

Book Usefulness of Acute Phase Reactant Score in the Neonatal Period

Download or read book Usefulness of Acute Phase Reactant Score in the Neonatal Period written by Toshihiko Nakamura and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2024-02-20 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In clinical practice, the most important points for accurately diagnosing neonatal infections are: immediate results at the bedside (quickness), accuracy of results (reliability), the degree of invasiveness to the sick baby is as low as possible (less invasiveness), the examination is not too expensive (cost performance), and the examination can be repeated (repeatability). This book describes the acute phase reactant (APR) score, in which one test item is 10 µL, and three APRs can be measured within 3 minutes in total at the bedside and scored. With clinicians’ keen observability and this APR score, neonatal infections can be confidently assessed. In addition, this book does not only refer to APR score, but also publishes the measurement results of cytokine profiles in comparison with APR scores throughout. This book will also increase understanding of the pathophysiology of neonatal infectious diseases.
