Download or read book Orange County Choppers TM written by Paul M. Teutul and published by Grand Central Publishing. This book was released on 2008-12-14 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the year 2003, Lady Luck reached out to a hard-living, hard-working family in a small town in Orange County, New York. That was when a team from the Discovery Channel began filming the custom chopper shop of Paul "Senior" Teutul, his son Paulie, and the rest of their highly dysfunctional, totally authentic crew as they did what they do best: make great custom-crafted bikes from the ground up. Within a few episodes, the Teutuls were famous: for their hilarious head-butting, their outrageous yelling, their amazing designs, and, most of all, for being real every step of the way. With their hit show American Chopper turning into the Discovery Channel's top-rated program, the Teutuls became unlikely national icons. Now the Teutuls tell their story as it has never been told before. Senior chronicles his harrowing journey from a hell-raising teen to a star-crossed businessman desperately trying to keep his demons at bay. And Paulie remembers working by his father's side in their ironworks shop-and the bond that developed between them when they first built an EVO-powered custom chopper from scratch. From youngest son Mikey's entrance into the shop to all the other members of the extended OCC family, this is a chronicle of Panheads and Softails turned into gleaming works of art, of Old School design versus Paulie's amazing theme bikes that took custom biking by storm-and earned the Teutuls some of the most famous clients in the world. With over 60 family archive photos that capture this true rags-to-riches saga, Orange County Choppers is the raw, honest story of a family that was born to be wild, how they came together around a shared passion and skill-and how they captured the heart of America.

Download or read book Sins of My Father written by Lily Dunn and published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson. This book was released on 2022-03-17 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Lily Dunn was just six years old, her father left the family home to follow his guru to India, trading domestic life for clothes dyed in oranges and reds and the promise of enlightenment with the cult of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Since then he has been a mystery to her. She grew up enthralled by the image of him; effervescent, ambitious and elusive, a writer, publisher and entrepreneur, a man who would appear with gifts from faraway places, and with whom she spent the long, hot summers of her teenage years in Italy, in the company of his wild and wealthy friends. Yet he was also a compulsive liar, a delinquent, a man who abandoned his responsibilities in a pursuit of transcendence that took him from sex addiction, via the Rajneesh cult, to a relentless chase of money, which ended in ruin and finally addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs. A detective story that charts two colliding narratives, Sins of My Father is a daughter's attempt to unravel the mysteries of a father who believed himself to be beyond reproach. A dazzling work of literary memoir, it asks how deep legacies of shame and trauma run, and if we can reconcile unconditional love with irreparable damage.

Why, it's time for an above-average summer, of course! If things go according to plan--and Average Boy always has lots of plans--then this summer will be his best one ever. This summer is when Average Boy will finally build that tree house he's been planning with his best friend, Billy. This summer is when he will brush his teeth every morning (as soon as he finds his toothbrush). And this summer he's setting a goal to invite everyone in town to church. There will be challenges along the way--challenges like Donny the school bully, or Sarah and Everley, who always seem to have water balloons in hand. It will definitely be a summer to remember!

Book excerpt: From award-winning Norwegian author Arne Svingen comes “an uplifting coming-of-age story” (The Wall Street Journal) about a relentlessly positive teenager who uses his love of opera to cope with his less-than-perfect home life. Bart is an eternal optimist. At thirteen years old, he’s had a hard life. But Bart knows that things won’t get any better if you have a negative attitude. His mother has pushed him into boxing lessons so that Bart can protect himself, but Bart already has defense mechanisms: he is relentlessly positive…and he loves opera. Listening to—and singing—opera is Bart’s greatest escape, but he’s too shy to share this with anyone. Then popular Ada befriends him and encourages him to perform at the school talent show. Ada can’t keep a secret to save her life, but Bart bonds with her anyway, and her openness helps him realize that his troubles are not burdens that he must bear alone. The Ballad of a Broken Nose is a sweet story about bravery, fear, bullying, sports, and music. But most of all it is about the important days of your life, days when everything seems to happen at once and nothing will ever be the same again.

Download or read book Memoirs of a Friend of God written by Donald Nason and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-05-09 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this book to show people God is not about religion He is about relationship. As I wrote, I asked Him to inspire me to remember the significance of our walk together so to help people find that relationship and encourage my fellow believers. I do not claim to be a theologian, I am just a country boy called by God into ministry. He has carried me throughout my life providing rescue, needed help, and sustaining me through beautiful Spring days as well as the ferocious storms that came my way. God has helped me write this book for two major reasons. First to supply enough evidence for anyone seeking to know God the significance of His Spirit providing the "abundant Life". I believe that life is available to everyone in God's family. My second reason is to encourage believers by showing them how God has sustained me through every day of my life. This is how that life works for me. It is not about "Riches, Status, or Fame". The "Abundant Life" is being available to God and seeing Him at work in our lives. When I realize God has accomplished something totally beyond my capability, knowing it has to be Him, that is the "Abundant Life." I can tell you firsthand, that gives me an anointing of joy from His Spirit that is far beyond anything the world has to offer!!
