Jerry would be Denton's ideal submissive - if only he would just get his last foot out of the closet and admit he's properly gay. Denton loves Jerry, but he knows it's a master's responsibility to make sure his submissive doesn't lie to himself or the rest of the world. He can't let Jerry hide behind the bi-sexual label forever. Jerry has no doubt that he's one-hundred percent bi-sexual. He's also well aware how much his master hates that fact. Jerry loves his master and he wants to please him, but he can't lie and say he's gay when he knows he's not. Denton would be Jerry's ideal master, if he could just accept the fact he's bi. Eventually, somebody's going to have to give in and admit he's wrong. The only question is who?

Book The Health of Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender People

Download or read book The Health of Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender People written by Institute of Medicine and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2011-06-24 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At a time when lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals-often referred to under the umbrella acronym LGBT-are becoming more visible in society and more socially acknowledged, clinicians and researchers are faced with incomplete information about their health status. While LGBT populations often are combined as a single entity for research and advocacy purposes, each is a distinct population group with its own specific health needs. Furthermore, the experiences of LGBT individuals are not uniform and are shaped by factors of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, geographical location, and age, any of which can have an effect on health-related concerns and needs. The Health of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People assesses the state of science on the health status of LGBT populations, identifies research gaps and opportunities, and outlines a research agenda for the National Institute of Health. The report examines the health status of these populations in three life stages: childhood and adolescence, early/middle adulthood, and later adulthood. At each life stage, the committee studied mental health, physical health, risks and protective factors, health services, and contextual influences. To advance understanding of the health needs of all LGBT individuals, the report finds that researchers need more data about the demographics of these populations, improved methods for collecting and analyzing data, and an increased participation of sexual and gender minorities in research. The Health of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People is a valuable resource for policymakers, federal agencies including the National Institute of Health (NIH), LGBT advocacy groups, clinicians, and service providers.

Book excerpt: The fourth novel from Julie Murphy, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Dumplin’—now a Netflix feature film starring Danielle Macdonald and Jennifer Aniston, with a soundtrack by Dolly Parton! For fans of Rainbow Rowell and Morgan Matson, Julie Murphy has created another fearless heroine, Ramona Blue, in a gorgeously evocative novel about family, friendship, and how sometimes love can be more fluid than you first think. Ramona was only five years old when Hurricane Katrina changed her life forever. Since then, it’s been Ramona and her family against the world. Standing over six feet tall with unmistakable blue hair, Ramona is sure of three things: she likes girls, she’s fiercely devoted to her family, and she knows she’s destined for something bigger than the trailer she calls home in Eulogy, Mississippi. But juggling multiple jobs, her flaky mom, and her well-meaning but ineffectual dad forces her to be the adult of the family. Now, with her sister, Hattie, pregnant, responsibility weighs more heavily than ever. The return of her childhood friend Freddie brings a welcome distraction. Ramona’s friendship with the former competitive swimmer picks up exactly where it left off, and soon he’s talked her into joining him for laps at the pool. But as Ramona falls in love with swimming, her feelings for Freddie begin to shift too, which is the last thing she expected. With her growing affection for Freddie making her question her sexual identity, Ramona begins to wonder if perhaps she likes girls and guys or if this new attraction is just a fluke. Either way, Ramona will discover that, for her, life and love are more fluid than they seem.

Book Justice Centered Humanism

Download or read book Justice Centered Humanism written by Roy Speckhardt and published by Pitchstone Publishing (US&CA). This book was released on 2021-04-06 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanists are quick to defend threats to the separation of church and state, but they have not always been consistently unified in engaging with pressing issues of race, class, gender, and sexuality—namely, those linked to economic, environmental, and social justice. Drawing on his tenure as executive director of the American Humanist Association, Roy Speckhardt calls for humanists everywhere to center justice in their humanism by promoting public policy based on ethical humanist principles. Acknowledging the challenges inherent to this type of advocacy and activism—such as balancing short-term needs with long-term goals, and espousing a common humanity without erasing differences—he makes a compelling case for championing justice-centered humanism. He also provides guidance for doing so, whether on the local, state, or federal level. Precisely because there is no such thing as cosmic justice in an afterlife, he reminds, it's especially important that humanists everywhere combat injustice in this life.

Book LGBTQ Clients in Therapy Clinical Issues and Treatment Strategies

Download or read book LGBTQ Clients in Therapy Clinical Issues and Treatment Strategies written by Joe Kort and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2018-03-20 with total page 506 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All the answers clinicians need to work effectively with LGBTQ clients. A therapist who treats LGBTQ clients often must be more than “gay friendly.” Clinical experience, scientific research, and cultural understanding are advancing rapidly, and the task of being LGBTQ informed is ever-changing in today's world. This book covers topics such as how to avoid making the common mistake of believing that "a couple is a couple," thus treating LGBTQ couples the same as their heterosexual counterparts; how to treat clients struggling in "mixed" orientation marriages and relationships (straight and LGBTQ spouses in the same couple); and how to work with all clients who have non-heteronormative sexual behaviors and practices. Perhaps most importantly, the book discusses covert cultural sexual abuse (the trauma suffered from having to suppress one's own sexual and gender identity) as well as the difficult process of coming out to family and friends. A therapist's job is to help clients and their identities through their own lens and not anyone else's—especially the therapist's. The gay affirmative principles put forward in this book will help you build a stronger relationship with your LGBTQ clients and become the go-to therapist in your area.

The Fifth Edition has been updated with expanded coverage of disability as it relates to gender, discussion of issues related to transgender and nonbinary people, and examination of the COVID-19 pandemic′s gender-related effects, as well as updated data throughout.

Book Perfect Timing Part One A Box Set

Download or read book Perfect Timing Part One A Box Set written by Kim Dare and published by Totally Entwined Group (USA+CAD). This book was released on 2019-12-03 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You First All Luke had to do was come after Justin. How difficult could that possibly be? There was only one thing that stopped sex with Justin being completely perfect for Luke. The timing. That wasn't so perfect. In fact, the timing really sucked — and not in the fun, fellatio related way. Justin was five years younger than Luke and relatively inexperienced. Luke had enjoyed more lovers than he could count or remember - he knew he was good at sex. There was no good reason why Justin should outlast him every time they hooked up. All Luke had to do was come second, set his mind at ease, and everything would be perfect between them. Hell, if he could do that, he might even consider the serious relationship idea Justin seemed so taken with. How difficult could that possibly be? Time To Do The words 'have sex with a man' can change everything, especially when they're written on a straight man's to do list. Rigby and Brennan have been best friends forever. Growing up and going away to university didn't alter that. Brennan coming out of the closet to his straight best friend didn't change anything either. But when Brennan finds an old to do list mixed in with his friend's possessions, and sees 'have sex with a man' written right there at the top, it alters everything. When Brennan realises the man he's in love with isn't as straight as he'd always thought he was, their friendship changes beyond all recognition. When the friends decide it's time to start ticking off all the items on Rigby's gay to do list, they soon realise nothing will ever be the same - for either of them. Bi Now, Gay Later Can a bi submissive really find happiness with a master who doesn't believe bisexuality exists?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Stroke of Twelve On the stroke of twelve Devon belongs to him for one hour. One hour that will change the course of his life forever. Free of responsibility and provided with an independent income, Devon Ashford floats through life thinking only of where the next party might be. When a note orders Devon to present himself at Templeton, Crawford & Associates at noon on Wednesday, he's curious enough and bored enough to follow the order. He doesn't know what to expect when he arrives, but it's not to be told that on the stroke of twelve, he'll belong to the stern man on the other side of the desk for exactly one hour. He doesn't expect anyone to command him to strip for an inspection. Nor does he expect to follow the orders of a stranger. He certainly doesn't imagine he could like doing that enough to go back for more. Whatever he expects, Devon's about to discover that what happens at the stroke of twelve could change the course of his life forever. Before He Cheats Rupert's society friends can call it an open relationship if they want. Leon still calls it cheating—and he's going to make sure it never happens again. Leon knows he and Rupert come from completely different worlds, but it never occurred to him that Rupert would consider their relationship to be open unless otherwise stated. He might not have the money, the experience or the social standing of Rupert's usual lovers, but Leon's still determined to fight for what he wants. And what he wants is to make sure he's exclusive with Rupert before his lover's "old friend" comes to visit next weekend. Can he convince a man like Rupert to give up everyone else in favour of one inexperienced graduate student? Can he convince Rupert to make a commitment to him before he cheats? Leon doesn't know—but he sure as hell is going to try! While Under the Influence A natural follower meets a natural leader. The only question now is who will have the biggest influence over the other? Elijah is a natural follower, but he's never thought too much about the way he lets his cousin talk him into all kinds of crazy schemes. What he has thought about, a lot, is the fact that he's pretty sure he's not entirely straight. When a drunken game of truth and dare sees Elijah's cousin, Louisa, find out he might be gay, her influence leads him straight into his favourite sexual fantasy. Aaron has always believed that he's a much harder man to manipulate, but that doesn't mean he's never been hurt, or that past pain doesn't influence his actions in the present. Aaron might be dominant to the core, but that doesn't mean it's all easy for him. As meddling family members, former submissives and large amounts of alcohol all come to bear on them, Elijah and Aaron are about to find out just what sort of influence they are destined to have on each other.

Book Fourteen

Download or read book Fourteen written by Shannon Molloy and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2020-03-23 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optioned for a major film and adapted to the stage, Fourteen is this generation’s Holding the Man – a moving coming-of-age memoir about a young man’s search for identity and acceptance in the most unforgiving and hostile of places: high school. This is a story about my fourteenth year of life as a gay kid at an all-boys rugby-mad Catholic school in regional Queensland. It was a year in which I started to discover who I was, and deeply hated what was revealed. It was a year in which I had my first crush and first devastating heartbreak. It was a year of torment, bullying and betrayal – not just at the hands of my peers, but by adults who were meant to protect me. And it was a year that almost ended tragically. I found solace in writing and my budding journalism; in a close-knit group of friends, all growing up too quickly together; and in the fierce protection of family and a mother’s unconditional love. These were moments of light and hilarity that kept me going. As much as Fourteen is a chronicle of the enormous struggle and adversity I endured, and the shocking consequences of it all, it’s also a tale of survival. Because I did survive. Longlisted for the 2021 ABIA Biography Book of the Year ‘Teenagers should read this book, parents should read this book. Human beings, above all, should read this book.’ Rick Morton, bestselling author of One Hundred Years of Dirt ‘I love this book … a beautifully written account of a young man struggling with his sexuality, overcoming shocking abuse and finding his way to pride.’ Peter FitzSimons, bestselling author ‘Shannon is unflinching in recounting the horror, but he is also funny, empathetic and, above all, full of courage.’ Bridie Jabour, author of The Way Things Should Be ‘A slice of life as experienced quite recently in the “lucky country”.’ The Hon Michael Kirby, AC CMG ‘Shannon's bitter struggle is painfully recognisable and happening in playgrounds around the world. But he not only triumphs, he relives his past using his best weapon: beautiful words.’ Australian Women’s Weekly ‘A stunning memoir about heartbreak and acceptance … a unique, hilarious and bittersweet insight into the heart of a boy, the courage of survival, and the fierce love of a mother.’ Frances Whiting, Courier Mail ‘Australia hasn’t changed all that much from what Shannon describes in Fourteen. Marriage equality isn’t the end; there is still such a long way to go, and books like this are an important part of that journey.’ FIVE STARS. Good Reading ‘Intensely raw and incredibly moving.’ OUTinPerth 'A book in which many will undoubtably see themselves and take solace' The Age

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'The book we all need for this moment in time.' CN LESTER 'An absolute must read' FOX FISHER 'A genius book' LIBRARY JOURNAL REVIEW Much of society's thinking operates in a highly rigid and binary manner; something is good or bad, right or wrong, a success or a failure, and so on. Challenging this limited way of thinking, this ground-breaking book looks at how non-binary methods of thought can be applied to all aspects of life, and offer new and greater ways of understanding ourselves and how we relate to others. Using bisexual and non-binary gender experiences as a starting point, this book addresses the key issues with binary thinking regarding our relationships, bodies, emotions, wellbeing and our sense of identity and sets out a range of practices which may help us to think in more non-binary, both/and, or uncertain ways. A truly original and insightful piece, this guide encourages reflection on how we view and understand the world we live in and how we all bend, blur or break society's binary codes.
