Book Bevel Gear

Download or read book Bevel Gear written by Jan Klingelnberg and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-03-25 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book to offer a complete presentation of bevel gears. An expert team of authors highlights the areas of application for these machine elements and presents the geometrical features of bevel gears as well as the various gear cutting processes based on gear cutting theory. The aspect of three-dimensional gearing is assessed in detail in terms of flank design, load capacity and noise behavior. A representation of production processes with the required technologies provides a knowledge base on which sound decisions can be based. The authors offer a thorough introduction to the complex world of bevel gears and present the rapid advances of these machine elements in a detailed, comprehensible manner. This book addresses design engineers in mechanical engineering and vehicle manufacturing, as well as producers of bevel gears and students in mechanical engineering.

Book Bevel Spiral and Worm Gearing Classic Reprint

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Bevel, Spiral and Worm Gearing Internal bevel gearing should be avoided except in cases where cast gears will be satisfactory, because it is practically impossible to cut internal bevel gearing. It may be possible on some forms of templet planing ma chines to produce internal bevel gears, if the pitch cone angle is not too great, but it is impossible on any form of generating machine. Internal bevel gearing can usually be avoided, and be replaced by external bevel gearing, by extending one of the shafts between which motion is to be transmitted, and mounting the gears in such a position that the required motion can be trans mitted by a pair of ordinary bevel gears. The following exceptions to, and modifications of, the rules given should be noted. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Spiral and Worm Gearing

Download or read book Spiral and Worm Gearing written by Erik Oberg and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-26 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Spiral and Worm Gearing: A Treatise on the Principles, Dimensions, Calculation and Design of Spiral and Worm Gearing, Together With Chapters on the Methods of Cutting the Teeth in These Types of Gears The manner in which machinery's book, Spur and Bevel Gearing, has been received by the mechanical world has prompted the compilation and publication of a companion book on Spiral and Worm Gearing. This subject has often been presented in so theoretical a manner that many have assumed it to be very difficult to master. It is possible, however, to present the principles of design and calculation of spiral and worm gearing in such a way that they can be readily under stood without resorting to a highly theoretical treatment; and in preparing this book, the first consideration on the part of the editor has therefore been to treat the subject in such'a way as to meet the practical requirementsof the machine-building trade. As a result, in this book, as well as in the companion book, Spur and Bevel Gearing, mere theory and academic discus sions have been avoided. The rules, formulas and instruc tions given are illustrated with engravings whenever necessary, and numerous examples are given to show their application to problems met with in machine design. Theoretical considera tions, however, have not been neglected in cases where they have been found necessary to fully explain a practical process, and this book is, therefore, a treatise on both the theory and practice of spiral and worm gearing along such lines as will make it especially useful to practical men. Book excerpt: The book explores the geometric and kinematic design of the various types of gears most commonly used in practical applications, also considering the problems concerning their cutting processes. The cylindrical spur and helical gears are first considered, determining their main geometric quantities in the light of interference and undercut problems, as well as the related kinematic parameters. Particular attention is paid to the profile shift of these types of gears either generated by rack-type cutter or by pinion-rack cutter. Among other things, profile-shifted toothing allows to obtain teeth shapes capable of greater strength and more balanced specific sliding, as well as to reduce the number of teeth below the minimum one to avoid the operating interference or undercut. These very important aspects of geometric-kinematic design of cylindrical spur and helical gears are then generalized and extended to the other examined types of gears most commonly used in practical applications, such as: straight bevel gears; crossed helical gears; worm gears; spiral bevel and hypoid gears. Finally, ordinary gear trains, planetary gear trains and face gear drives are discussed. Includes fully-developed exercises to draw the reader's attention to the problems that are of interest to the designer, as well as to clarify the calculation procedure Topics are addressed from a theoretical standpoint, but in such a way as not to lose sight of the physical phenomena that characterize the various types of gears which are examined The analytical and numerical solutions are formulated so as to be of interest not only to academics, but also to designers who deal with actual engineering problems concerning the gears
