Book Bettina Blohm

Download or read book Bettina Blohm written by Sabine Bergk and published by . This book was released on 2017-04 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bettina Blohm (geb.

Download or read book The Collection for the Poor Collector written by Thomas Geiger and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Le livre d'artiste "Collection for the poor" est inspiré du livre d'Eugène Schwartz "Confessions of a poor collector".

Book Speculative Drawing

    Book Details:
  • Author : Armen Avanessian
  • Publisher : Sternberg Press
  • Release : 2014-09-01
  • ISBN : 9783956790447
  • Pages : 320 pages

Download or read book Speculative Drawing written by Armen Avanessian and published by Sternberg Press. This book was released on 2014-09-01 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents fifteen books - from monographs and translations to collections of essays - that emerged from the research platform Speculative Poetics, conceived by Armen Avanessian in 2011. This book gives a somewhat different introduction to contemporary speculative philosophy, raising questions on how thinking works and how thinking occurs in drawings or illustrations. How does a poetic thinking work that's not about but with art?0Andreas Töpfer's drawings in this book are not illustrations of the texts. Rather it's the other way around: they need to be read so that the texts can start to refer to them. In this sense, this book does not provide a shortcut to the theories presented; it does not aim to build a representational relationship between a pictorially correct understanding and a correlative conceptual thought. Instead, the drawings provide an occasion to think about thinking - a speculative thinking and writing in concept and through images.

Book Methods in Brain Connectivity Inference through Multivariate Time Series Analysis

Download or read book Methods in Brain Connectivity Inference through Multivariate Time Series Analysis written by Koichi Sameshima and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-03-21 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Interest in brain connectivity inference has become ubiquitous and is now increasingly adopted in experimental investigations of clinical, behavioral, and experimental neurosciences. Methods in Brain Connectivity Inference through Multivariate Time Series Analysis gathers the contributions of leading international authors who discuss different time series analysis approaches, providing a thorough survey of information on how brain areas effectively interact. Incorporating multidisciplinary work in applied mathematics, statistics, and animal and human experiments at the forefront of the field, the book addresses the use of time series data in brain connectivity interference studies. Contributors present codes and data examples to back up their methodological descriptions, exploring the details of each proposed method as well as an appreciation of their merits and limitations. Supplemental material for the book, including code, data, practical examples, and color figures is supplied in the form of a CD with directories organized by chapter and instruction files that provide additional detail. The field of brain connectivity inference is growing at a fast pace with new data/signal processing proposals emerging so often as to make it difficult to be fully up to date. This consolidated panorama of data-driven methods includes theoretical bases allied to computational tools, offering readers immediate hands-on experience in this dynamic arena.

Book Yngve Holen

Download or read book Yngve Holen written by Matias Faldbakken and published by Hatje Cantz. This book was released on 2019-05 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The work by the sculptor Yngve Holen revolves around the increasingly tangled relationship between human and machine, the physical body and consumer culture. For his most extensive solo show in Norway to date, he took the opportunity to trace the linguistic, tactile, visual, and site-specific parameters that define us and our environment. He bridges the gap from the general to the personal by exploring the theme of his Norwegian- German background in the show's title, as well as in a new group of works named HEINZERLING. The catalogue includes views of the exhibition at the Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo, along with works from the past decade of the artist's career and photographs of a new, site-specific installation at the Holens' family cottage in Kvam, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway.

Book Origins of Impressionism

Download or read book Origins of Impressionism written by Gary Tinterow and published by Metropolitan Museum of Art. This book was released on 1994 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This handsome publication, which accompanies a major exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, is a lively and engaging account of the artistic scene in Paris in the 1860s, the years that witnessed the beginnings of Impressionism. For the first time the interactions and relationships among the group of painters who became known as the Impressionists are examined without the overworn art historical polarities commonly evoked: academic versus avant-garde, classicist versus romantic, realist versus impressionist. A host of strong personalities contributed to this history, and their style evolved into a new way of looking at the world. These artists wanted above all to give an impression of truth and to have an impact on or even to shock the public. And they wanted to measure up to or surpass their elders. This complex and rich environment is presented here - the grand old men and the young turks encounter each other, the Salon pontificates, and the new generation moves fitfully ahead, benignly but always with determination." "Origins of Impressionism gives a day-by-day, year-by-year study of the genesis of an epoch-making style." "Bibliographies and provenances are provided for each of the almost two hundred works in the exhibition, and there is an illustrated chronology. With more than two hundred superb colorplates, this informative survey is an essential work for both the general reader and the scholar."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc.
