Book THE EFFECT OF IRON ORE MINING ON ENVIRONMENT IT S REGULATION IN INDIA

Download or read book THE EFFECT OF IRON ORE MINING ON ENVIRONMENT IT S REGULATION IN INDIA written by Dr. ARAVINDA H.T., LL.M, M.Phil, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Law Visveswarapura College of Law Bengaluru and published by Nitya Publications. This book was released on 2022-01-01 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mining refers to the process of extracting minerals and metals from the crust of the earth. Some minerals can be mined more easily as they are found on the earth’s surface, while others lie far beneath the surface and can be obtained only by digging deep underground. Gold, Silver, Diamond, Iron, Coal, Aluminum (Bauxite) and Uranium are some of the vast array of metals and minerals that are obtained by the latter process. In fact, mining is the source of all the substances that cannot be obtained by industrial processes or through agriculture. Mining, in its wider sense connotes extracting and processing of a non - renewable mineral resource. Minerals can be classified into metallic (iron, copper, gold, aluminum, uranium etc.) and non-metallic (sand, salt, phosphates etc.) These minerals are non-renewable or depleting assets and once mined-out, they are exhausted and are lost forever without any chance of replenishment. Simply, this exhaustible resource cannot be harvested, unlike agricultural products.

Book Karl Marx and the Postcolonial Age

Download or read book Karl Marx and the Postcolonial Age written by Ranabir Samaddar and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-09-07 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book seeks to explicitly engage Marxist and post-colonial theory to place Marxism in the context of the post-colonial age. Those who study Marx, particularly in the West, often lack an understanding of post-colonial realities; conversely, however, those who fashion post-colonial theory often have an inadequate understanding of Marx. Many think that Marx is not relevant to critique postcolonial realities and the legacy of Marx seldom reaches the post-colonial countries directly. This work will read Marx in the contemporary post-colonial condition and elaborate the current dynamics of post-colonial capitalism. It does this by analysing contemporary post-colonial history and politics in the framework of inter-relations between the three categories of class, people, and postcolonial transformation. Examining the structure of power in postcolonial countries and revisiting the revolutionary theory of dual power in that context, it appreciates and explains the transformative potentialities of Marx in relation to post-colonial condition.
