Book Blessed as a Survivor

Download or read book Blessed as a Survivor written by Elizabeth M. Wilms and published by Inspiring Voices. This book was released on 2013-08 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While Elizabeth Wilms was very young, during World War II, her father was a prisoner of war, and her mother was serving as a slave laborer in the Soviet Union. She and her brother were placed in liquidation camps in Yugoslavia. But her family was blessed; they survived to meet again and later immigrated to the United States. In Blessed as a Survivor, she recounts her life story before and after World War II. Six-year-old Elizabeth was an ethnic German (Danube Swabian) living in the former Yugoslavia when, in the autumn of 1944, the victorious Russian army first arrived, followed by Tito's communist partisans, who treated them to a horrific "reign of terror." In spring of 1945, Elizabeth and her family were expelled from their home and placed in several different detention camps, where they were exposed to sickness, fear, terror, and starvation. They saw death everywhere. She and her brother experienced long years of separation from their parents and grandparents. They narrowly escaped being placed in a Serbian orphanage. Despite her lost childhood and dealing with many hardships that forced her to grow up quickly, she did not dwell on the past but instead moved forward. After arriving in the United States, she attended college and became a teacher the beginning of a new life. Blessed as a Survivor shares a story of hope and forgiveness that seeks to offer comfort and inspire other people who are struggling and who feel very alone.

Download or read book I Am Mary written by Farran Vernon “Hank” Helmick and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-08-31 with total page 473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I Am Mary is a fictionalized autobiography of Mother Mary based on the dialogue attributed to Mary by various Saints and visionaries. Her own words are used in most instances starting with the second chapter. The author of course had to take poetic license especially in Chapter Twelve's summary of her appearances. This book fills in much of the blank periods of the lives of Jesus and Mary. It reveals much of their mystical lives as related by Saint Mary of Agreda, Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich, Saint Bridget of Sweden, Saint Maria Faustina Kawalsaka, the Holy Bible, the Gospelof Mary and a myriad of other sources. It is an ideal book for meditation on the lives and works of Mother Mary and her Divine Son Jesus Christ. I tried to edit some of the archaic terminology of the early writers to offer smoother reading and ready comprehension. The original texts were highly recommended reading by several different Popes in the periods in which the original books were written.

Download or read book The Second Tattoo written by Wilhelm Klein Jr. and published by Klein Publishing House of Michigan. This book was released on 2014-08-06 with total page 597 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is the author’s sincere hope and desire that the reader will come to understand and realize the importance and significance of the book’s title and that those who read this book will find a clearer and perhaps deeper understanding of faith in God. The author takes us through his father, Wilhelm Senior’s eyes to the eastern front of World War II. He relates how Wilhelm Senior’s faith in God helps him cope with the unbelievable circumstances of a medic in field hospitals in WWII. Author Wilhelm uses the narrative approach to make us a part of the many scenes of his story and that of his father. The importance of spiritual values and how they play into one’s behavior in stressful situations is a deeply thought provoking element of this book. The accounts are woven together with a back-drop of un-relenting faith in God, who intervened many times. There is something here for the historian and for students and observers of the human condition as well.

Download or read book Dating God written by S. R. Anderson and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2021-08-12 with total page 920 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dating God: The Dates of the Most High By: S.R. Anderson Dating God: The Dates of the Most High discusses the final seven years prior to the return of Yeshua the Messiah. It takes its premise from the dates found in the Old Testament that are argued points to the days that lie ahead, the days of tribulation and the reign of antichrist. Obviously this is extremely relevant to the days all of us live in, from the onslaught of Covid-19, to the upcoming vaccine that will be forced upon all mankind, to the raging devastation of natural disasters, to the threat and waging continuous and constant war, all under the backdrop of the coming third temple in Jerusalem. The take on all these events that are unique to this book is the referencing to scripture that gives us exact dates of past events that paint a picture of future happenings. This is not another date-setting book with erroneous prophecies; this is a careful examination of the dates that Yahweh gives to us in his holy scriptures that quite possibly show us the timing of events that are even now coming upon this world. S. R.'s hope is that this work will open the eyes of a sleeping church, too long festered in the delusion that the events prophesied are of a time still too far distant to care about, or worse yet, that somehow believers will be whisked away by some fancied rapture that they will escape the tribulation that is even now at the door.

Book Letters to Lelia

Download or read book Letters to Lelia written by Francis Rosenfeld and published by Francis Rosenfeld. This book was released on 2015-05-12 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Never forget, my dear child, that life is made of days, and no matter how many days you were gifted with, you should strive to enjoy every single one of them. When you have given your love and attention to your family and friends, it will still be overflowing, so pay attention to the ideals you care about, to the people whose needs call out to you, to the human race, to the universe itself. Energy spent in activities that don't touch your soul is wasted, and those activities will drag along for a while, only to be abandoned when the first justification presents itself. When you put your heart into something you love however, not a single obstacle can ever stand against it. It may not always be easy, but you can't let go of it, because it is a part of who you are, your purpose." Letters to Lelia - Chapter Twenty Four: Love. Always.
