This book was released on 2018-07-03 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Human Reliability Program (US Department of Energy Regulation) (DOE) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Human Reliability Program (US Department of Energy Regulation) (DOE) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 DOE is amending its regulation concerning the Human Reliability Program (HRP). This regulation provides the policies and procedures to ensure that individuals who occupy positions affording unescorted access to certain nuclear materials, nuclear explosive devices, facilities and programs meet the highest standards of reliability and physical and mental suitability. The revisions include some clarification of the procedures and burden of proof applicable in certification review hearings, the addition and modification of certain definitions, and a clear statement that a security concern can be reviewed pursuant to the HRP regulation in addition to the DOE regulations for determining eligibility for access to classified matter or special nuclear material. These revisions are intended to provide better guidance to HRP-certified individuals and to ensure consistency in HRP decision making. This book contains: - The complete text of the Human Reliability Program (US Department of Energy Regulation) (DOE) (2018 Edition) - A table of contents with the page number of each section

Book Reliability Engineering for Nuclear and Other High Technology Systems 1985

Download or read book Reliability Engineering for Nuclear and Other High Technology Systems 1985 written by A.A. Lakner and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-11-22 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First Published in 2017. This book presents a much needed practical methodology for the establishment of cost-effective reliability programs in nuclear or other high technology industries. Thanks to the high competence and practical experience of the authors in the field of reliability, it vividly illustrates the applicability of proven, cost-effective reliability techniques applied in the American space and military programs as hybridized with the avant-garde approach used by nuclear authorities, utilities and researchers in the United Kingdom and France. This emerged method will support a diligent effort in the enhancement of nuclear safety and protection of the health of the general public. The methodology developed in this book exemplifies the total integrated reliability program approach in the design, procurement, manufacturing, test, installation and operational phases of an equipment life cycle. It is based on lessons learned in space and military programs with certain methodological modifications to enhance practicality. The techniques described here are applicable to college instruction, plant upper and middle management personnel, as well as to regulating agencies with equal benefits; it provides a very pragmatic and cost-efficient approach to the reliability engineering discipline

Book Behavioral Science Policy Volume 3

Download or read book Behavioral Science Policy Volume 3 written by Craig R. Fox and published by Brookings Institution Press. This book was released on 2018-06-19 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The success of nearly all public- and private-sector policies hinges on the behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations. Today, such behaviors are better understood than ever, thanks to a growing body of practical behavioral science research. However, policymakers often are unaware of behavioral science findings that may help them craft and execute more effective and efficient policies. The pages of this new journal will become a meeting ground: a place where scientists and non-scientists can encounter clearly described behavioral research that can be put into action. By design, the scope of Behavioral Science & Policy is broad, with topics spanning health care, financial decisionmaking, energy and the environment, education and culture, justice and ethics, and work place practices. Contributions will be made by researchers with expertise in psychology, sociology, law, behavioral economics, organization science, decision science, and marketing. The journal is a key offering of the Behavioral Science & Policy Association in partnership with the Brookings Institution. The mission of BSPA is to foster dialog between social scientists, policymakers, and other practitioners in order to promote the application of rigorous empirical behavioral science in ways that serve the public interest. BSPA does not advance a particular agenda or political perspective.

Book Utility Considerations in Emotional Stability Monitoring for Nuclear Plant Personnel

Download or read book Utility Considerations in Emotional Stability Monitoring for Nuclear Plant Personnel written by Sandra L. Davis and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most effective behavioral reliability programs include four elements: (1) Behavioral criteria of unreliability, (2) Professional judgement, (3) Training, and (4) Employee assistance program. Some data exists which show more acts of sabotage, theft, or vandalism occur in environments in which screening hurdles are minimal and other security precautions are minimal. A behavioral reliability program must include training in observation skills for the individuals charged with the responsibility of ensuring reliability of their subordinates. It must be linked with a screening program through definition of criteria and the judgment of a professional psychologist or psychiatrist who knows the job environment. Finally, it must provide resources for the employee or individual who, once screened in, is now denied access.
