Book excerpt: Ludwig Boatner was born in about 1700 in Germany. He died in 1746 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His son, Ludwig (1724-1802) married Mary Martin in about 1754. They had nine children. Ludwig died in Edgefield, South Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas.
