Book Baby Jacob and His Psychiatrist

Download or read book Baby Jacob and His Psychiatrist written by Ben Pathen and published by AB Discovery. This book was released on 2020-02-21 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jacob Tarrant, 50-year-old single man had a problem. He was an adult baby and the drives and desires that consumed him had reached the stage that he now felt that he had to deal with them. And so he went to Dr Helena, a well-known clinical psychiatrist with the goal of being cured - whatever that meant. He no longer wanted to be an adult baby. If he couldn't have what he wanted and to be a baby for a loving mummy, he wanted to be rid of it entirely. Dr Helena was a third-generation psychiatrist who had heard of adult babies but didn't really know much about them, like so many of her colleagues. Intrigued by the challenge, she attempted the well-tried technique beloved of parents of teenagers who had tried smoking. She decided to give him full-time babying for a week or two so that he would see that it wasn't really what he wanted after all. Then, she could treat the core problem once he realised that he didn't really want to be a baby at all. A nice idea. But it backfired. Read on to see what happened.

Book The Silent Epidemic A Child Psychiatrist s Journey beyond Death Row Understanding Treating and Preventing Neurodevelopmental Disorder Associated with Prenatal Alcohol Exposure

Download or read book The Silent Epidemic A Child Psychiatrist s Journey beyond Death Row Understanding Treating and Preventing Neurodevelopmental Disorder Associated with Prenatal Alcohol Exposure written by Susan D. Rich, MD, MPH and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-06-15 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses a critical public health problem in America - the leading preventable cause of birth defects, neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disability: prenatal alcohol exposure. Dr. Rich provides insight into the prevalence of neurodevelopmental disorder associated with prenatal alcohol exposure (ND-PAE) among juveniles accused of violent crimes, in neighborhoods where America's "least valued" citizens reside, and even in upper middle class communities. The problem develops as early as the first three weeks of pregnancy, when many women are unaware that they are pregnant. With appropriate diagnosis and treatment, affected individuals can avoid a lifetime of lost potential from substance use disorders, incarceration, unemployment, and homelessness. From her broad psychiatric, forensic, and public health experience, Dr. Rich has crafted a reasoned, passionate argument for communities and professionals to unite in ending an epidemic that currently affects one in twenty American children.

Book Who Wants to be a Baby Again Vol 5

Download or read book Who Wants to be a Baby Again Vol 5 written by Ben Pathen and published by AB Discovery. This book was released on 2020-07-22 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is arguably the most common theme in ABDL fiction – becoming a baby again, perhaps forever and perhaps completely so. For many Adult Babies, the idea of being able to give into our wishes and desires completely and without restriction is a wonderful concept and one that grabs our attention. For the vast majority of adult babies, the expression of our inner infant is complicated by endless compromises and limits on what we can actually do. Our partners limit us. Our finances limit us. Social acceptance – and the lack thereof – limits us. Friends, employment, family and other issues limit us. But fiction can overcome all of these. In fiction, we can bend the rules of probability, break the bounds of social norms and erase the limits that otherwise keep us from expressing our inner infancy the way we wish. In these three books, you will read of adults that become complete babies once more. If they are not originally completely willing to become babies again, they quickly discover the joys, the peace and comfort of diapers, baby clothes, bottle feeds and baby toys. Infancy is entrancing to almost everyone, but for those special people – adult babies – infancy is only a diaper-change away and stories of grownups reverting to babyhood is less fiction than an innate desire that we express on the pages of a book. Enjoy your stay in the world of refreshing infancy. BOOKS: Melissa and her mother find a baby Aunt Janet's Reluctant Baby Baby Jacob and his Psychiatrist

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “A legal thriller that’s comparable to classics such as Scott Turow’s Presumed Innocent . . . tragic and shocking.”—Associated Press NOW AN EMMY-NOMINATED ORIGINAL STREAMING SERIES • NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY Entertainment Weekly • Boston Globe • Kansas City Star Andy Barber has been an assistant district attorney for two decades. He is respected. Admired in the courtroom. Happy at home with the loves of his life: his wife, Laurie, and their teenage son, Jacob. Then Andy’s quiet suburb is stunned by a shocking crime: a young boy stabbed to death in a leafy park. And an even greater shock: The accused is Andy’s own son—shy, awkward, mysterious Jacob. Andy believes in Jacob’s innocence. Any parent would. But the pressure mounts. Damning evidence. Doubt. A faltering marriage. The neighbors’ contempt. A murder trial that threatens to obliterate Andy’s family. It is the ultimate test for any parent: How far would you go to protect your child? It is a test of devotion. A test of how well a parent can know a child. For Andy Barber, a man with an iron will and a dark secret, it is a test of guilt and innocence in the deepest sense. How far would you go? Praise for Defending Jacob “A novel like this comes along maybe once a decade . . . a tour de force, a full-blooded legal thriller about a murder trial and the way it shatters a family. With its relentless suspense, its mesmerizing prose, and a shocking twist at the end, it’s every bit as good as Scott Turow’s great Presumed Innocent. But it’s also something more: an indelible domestic drama that calls to mind Ordinary People and We Need to Talk About Kevin. A spellbinding and unforgettable literary crime novel.”—Joseph Finder “Defending Jacob is smart, sophisticated, and suspenseful—capturing both the complexity and stunning fragility of family life.”—Lee Child “Powerful . . . leaves you gasping breathlessly at each shocking revelation.”—Lisa Gardner “Disturbing, complex, and gripping, Defending Jacob is impossible to put down. William Landay is a stunning talent.”—Carla Neggers “Riveting, suspenseful, and emotionally searing.”—Linwood Barclay
