Book excerpt: DOES GOD LIE? If you read very many Christian books about remarriage being sanctified by Him, then He must! Both Jesus and Paul made MANY statements that do not support this gross ERROR, of God winking at ADULTERY in remarriage, that is propagated by the WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING, WHOM Jesus solemnly warned you about! This book will challenge your thinking on the subject of divorce and remarriage. It is based primarily upon the teachings of Jesus and the apostle Paul, referencing all of the relevant texts that are used and misused to validate the various positions on marriage, divorce, and remarriage within Christianity, as well as many other passages that have indirect application that are central to the topic. If you read this book without any preconceived bias from the outset, you will certainly be surprised at what you will discover about this always controversial, yet never agreed upon issue facing the Christian church today.

Book excerpt: The English Civil War was a time of disruption, suffering and persecution for many people, not least the clergy of the established church, who found themselves ejected from their livings in increasing numbers as Parliamentarian forces extended their control across the country. Yet, historians have tended to downplay their suffering, preferring in most cases to concentrate instead upon the persecution suffered by dissenters after the Restoration. Drawing upon an impressive array of sources - most notably the remarkable set of family and parish memories collected by John Walker in the early years of the eighteenth century - this book refocuses attention on the experiences of the sequestered loyalist clergy during the turbulent years of the 1640s and 1650s. The study highlights how the experiences of the clergy can help illuminate events in wider society, whilst at the same time acknowledging the unique situation in which Church of England ministers found themselves. For although the plundering, imprisonment and personal loss of the clergy was probably indicative of the experiences of many ordinary people on middle incomes, the ever present religious dimension to the conflict ensured particular attention was paid to those holding religious office. During the war and interregnum, zealous religious reformers attacked every aspect of established religion, targeting both existing institutions and those who supported them. Clergy were ejected on an unprecedented scale, suffering much violence and persecution and branded as 'malignants' and 'baal's priests'. By re-examining their history, the book offers a balanced assessment of the persecution, challenging many preconceptions about the ejected loyalists, and providing new insights into the experiences and legacies of this influential group.

Book The Priests of God Unveiling the Order of Melchizedek

This book was released on 2017-10-05 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: (The latest in the PROPHETS, PRIESTS AND KINGS SERIES is here for serious Bible students. Misunderstandings and misinformation on the true priesthood of Christ are addressed by several hundred relevant Scripture passages. With God’s Word as the authority, the role of priests is defined before the search for the mysterious Christ-like figure, Melchizedek, can begin. The entire Bible is examined for clues to the man that Genesis 14:18 calls ‘Priest of God Most High.’ Following each lead, Scripture takes the investigation in a unique direction. Concluding Melchizedek had flesh-and-blood pays dividends when the pursuit leads to a “person-of-interest.” From there, a case is solidly built for one of the most dramatic Bible discoveries of any era. Until now, God has cloaked Melchizedek in mystery. Solving this mystery is the Lord’s gift to his last day’s saints, The Priests of God. Knowing who was hidden behind the veil will have tremendous implications for the priestly order of Melchizedek. Get ready to be challenged. Get set to objectively re-think and re-examine all you have learned about prophecy. Be prepared for a life-changing and mind-blowing experience. You must be open to the Spirit. Your destiny as God’s servant awaits.)

Excerpt: ...were unlawful,93 were declared to be idolatrous. It is obvious that the worship of the Baalim was an offence to them. Yet is there no indication that before Ahab's time Baal was an idolatrous name.94 97. Idolatrous, or anti-JHVH-istic, the Baal-worship could not have been, until the worshipping of Baal appeared as something anti-national: and that did not happen till after Solomon's days.95 But the grounds for it were already laid in his time. In Tyre, as we know, Hiram reigned simultaneously with David and Solomon, under whom that state attained an unprecedented glory. Hiram employed for the maintenance of his authority the same meaDS as his friend Solomon, viz. the erection of a splendid Temple for the national Deity, the Baal--that is, first of the Tabernacle, and then of the Temple. Bnt it does not seem that the Priests in later days--except, perhaps, Hilkiah in Josiah's time--were Reformers of the worship of JHVH. There were some spiritually-minded Prophets all along, who laboured for this, and Jeremiah was of a priestly family: but these were very commonly opposed to the Priests, as well as to other, non-reforming, Prophets: see Jer.i.18, ii.8,26, v.31, especially xx.1,2, xxvi.7,8,11, xxix.26,27. That is, as we may suppose, all worship of JHVH, which was conducted after the idolatrous fashions of the tribes around them. But see note ss, where some indications are given of the existence of a dislike for the use of the name 'Baal' in connection with JHVH, even as early as the time of David. M The worshipping of the Baal was never anti-JHVH-istic, but it was anti-JeHOv-istie, --that is, it was opposed to the spirit of the Reformers, Samuel and his followers. The attempt to centralise the worship of Jehovah at Jerusalem, in David's time...

Book The Eternal High Priest of the Covenantal Oath

Download or read book The Eternal High Priest of the Covenantal Oath written by Abraham Park and published by . This book was released on 2021-06 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The name of this series is God's Administration in the History of Redemption (Eph 1:9). God's administration in the history of redemption is His management of the entire history, including the promising of the Messiah, giving prophecies of every detail of His coming, His birth and ministry on earth, and the atoning work on the cross. God interceded in mankind's history through His providence in every period to make sure His will of salvation of fallen mankind through Jesus Christ is fulfilled. This series follows that history and traces back to see what God has done to bring us to salvation. The history in which God intervenes and eventually comes down to save His people is the history of redemption. Because He worked through people in their history, His works can be traced back through genealogies, which contain names, events, and years. Together, they form a history and become important evidence for the reality of God's work. The Bible actually provides all the evidence that its stories are not mere myths or legendary stories. The History of Redemption Series puts together the clues and evidence in the sequence of the redemptive historical flow, so the readers can see the drama and flow of God's work of salvation, which leads all the way to this current day. The genealogies of the godly seed continue in the book of Genesis through the fathers of faith who were able to overcome and set themselves apart from sins and greed in this world. The genealogies in Genesis lead to introduce Abraham, an essential figure in God's administration to bring salvation for the entire world. The work of redemption takes on a new phase through God's calling of Abraham and is fulfilled through the Messiah who comes as the son of Abraham. This magnificent story of godly lineage is what Moses refers to as the "days of old." They are the days that contain God's redeeming work which continues to fulfill His covenant in our lives today.

This book was released on 2015-12-19 with total page 802 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "the book chronicles the Israelites' difficult, albeit triumphant, journey under Yeshua's leadership. It brings the harshness of ancient battles to life, with slashing swords and constant, unmerciful conflict. Although Yeshua's people believe that they're acting under the one and true God, their shortcomings under biblical law regularly result in their facing God's wrath. Some Israelites insist that they should all return to Egypt, but as they conquer the polytheistic, frequently amoral tribes around them, the epic marches on. The story includes descriptions of famous biblical scenes, such as the conquering of Jericho, and not-so-famous ones, such as the defeat of the Amorite King Sihon, and does a good job of interweaving various Old Testament elements into a larger whole." - Kirkus Reviews Oct 14, 2013 - Priests and Warriors
