Book La cybercriminalit en mouvement

Download or read book La cybercriminalit en mouvement written by FREYSSINET Eric and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-09-24 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

The survivors of the epidemic have now reached adulthood and are committed to the task of rebuilding civilization. But an ideological rift has divided the survivors into two separate factions—one determined to resurrect the human race, the other obsessed with improving humanity via genetic manipulation. And as the factions clash with one another, a new biological threat rises from the ashes of Black Ep, an even deadlier contagion with one purpose: mankind’s extinction. “A compelling work that will appeal to fans of speculative fiction and apocalyptic thrillers.”—Midwest Book Review

Book excerpt: Plainchant is the oldest substantial body of music that has been preserved in any shape or form. It was first written down in Western Europe in the eighth to ninth centuries. Many thousands of chants have been sung at different times or places in a multitude of forms and styles, responding to the differing needs of the church through the ages. This book provides a clear and concise introduction, designed both for those to whom the subject is new and those who require a reference work for advanced study. It begins with an explanation of the liturgies that plainchant was designed to serve. It describes all the chief genres of chant, different types of liturgical book, and plainchant notations. After an exposition of early medieval theoretical writing on plainchant, Hiley provides a historical survey that traces the constantly changing nature of the repertory. He also discusses important musicians and centers of composition. Copiously illustrated with over 200 musical examples, this book highlights the diversity of practice and richness of the chant repertory in the Middle Ages. It will be an indispensable introduction and reference source on this important music for many years to come.

Book The Syntax and Semantics of Split Constructions

Download or read book The Syntax and Semantics of Split Constructions written by A. Butler and published by Springer. This book was released on 2004-04-07 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Split constructions are very widespread in natural languages. The separation of the semantic restriction of a quantifier from that quantifier is a typical example of such a construction. This study addresses the problem that such discontinuous strings exhibit a number of locality constraints, including intervention effects. These are shown to follow from the interaction of a minimalist syntax with a semantics that directly assigns a model-theoretic interpretation to syntactic logical forms. The approach is shown to have wide empirical coverage and a conceptual simplicity. The book will be of interest to scholars and advanced students of syntax and semantics.
