Book Atmospheric Attenuation Model 1964 in the Ultraviolet Visible and Infrared Regions for Altitudes to 50 Km

Download or read book Atmospheric Attenuation Model 1964 in the Ultraviolet Visible and Infrared Regions for Altitudes to 50 Km written by L. Elterman and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A model of a clear standard atmosphere, for determing attenuation in the ultraviolet, the visible, and the infrared windows, is derived. The derivation is based on a Rayleigh atmosphere combined with aerosol and ozone components. The format of the model is a series of tabulations for 22 wavelengths with Rayleigh, aerosol, and ozone components arrayed at kilometer intervals to an altitude of 50 kilometers. Exploratory calculations pertaining to horizontal, vertical, and slant-path transmission from sea level, transmission between two altitudes and transmission to space are readily made from the tabulations. Because of its more extensive coverage and improved computational programming, this report, including the tabulations, fully replaces the earlier publication, 'A Model of a Clear Standard Atmosphere for Attenuation in the Visible Region and IYNFRARED Windows, ' by this author.

Book Ward Milledge and West s High Altitude Medicine and Physiology

Download or read book Ward Milledge and West s High Altitude Medicine and Physiology written by Andrew M Luks and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-02-15 with total page 555 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This pre-eminent work has developed over six editions in response to man's attempts to climb higher and higher unaided, and to spend more time at altitude for both work and recreation. Building on this established reputation, the new and highly experienced authors provide a fully revised and updated text that will help doctors continue to improve the health and safety of all people who visit, live or work in the cold, thin air of high mountains. The sixth edition remains invaluable for any doctor accompanying an expedition or advising patients on a visit to altitude, those specialising in illness and accidents in high places, and for physicians and physiologists who study our dependence on oxygen and the adaptation of the body to altitude.
