Book Applied Time Series Analysis II

Download or read book Applied Time Series Analysis II written by David F. Findley and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 811 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Applied Time Series Analysis II contains the proceedings of the Second Applied Time Series Symposium Held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 3-5, 1980. The symposium provided a forum for discussing significant advances in time series analysis and signal processing. Effective alternatives to the familiar least-square and maximum likelihood procedures are described, along with maximum likelihood procedures for modeling irregularly sampled series and for classifying non-stationary series. Comprised of 22 chapters, this volume begins with an introduction to the multidimensional filtering theory and presents specific case histories related to the multidimensional recursive filter stability problem; the least squares inverse problem; realization of filters; and spectral estimation. The unique properties of the three-dimensional wave equation are also considered. Subsequent chapters focus on high-resolution spectral estimators; time series analysis of geophysical inverse scattering problems; minimum entropy deconvolution; and fitting of a continuous time autoregression to discrete data. This monograph will appeal to students and practitioners in the fields of mathematics and statistics, electrical and electronics engineering, and information and computer sciences.

Book Digital Filters and Signal Processing

Download or read book Digital Filters and Signal Processing written by Leland B. Jackson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital Filters and Signal Processing, Third Edition ... with MATLAB Exercises presents a general survey of digital signal processing concepts, design methods, and implementation considerations, with an emphasis on digital filters. It is suitable as a textbook for senior undergraduate or first-year graduate courses in digital signal processing. While mathematically rigorous, the book stresses an intuitive understanding of digital filters and signal processing systems, with numerous realistic and relevant examples. Hence, practicing engineers and scientists will also find the book to be a most useful reference. The Third Edition contains a substantial amount of new material including, in particular, the addition of MATLAB exercises to deepen the students' understanding of basic DSP principles and increase their proficiency in the application of these principles. The use of the exercises is not mandatory, but is highly recommended. Other new features include: normalized frequency utilized in the DTFT, e.g., X(ejomega); new computer generated drawings and MATLAB plots throughout the book; Chapter 6 on sampling the DTFT has been completely rewritten; expanded coverage of Types I-IV linear-phase FIR filters; new material on power and doubly-complementary filters; new section on quadrature-mirror filters and their application in filter banks; new section on the design of maximally-flat FIR filters; new section on roundoff-noise reduction using error feedback; and many new problems added throughout.

Book Spectral Analysis for Physical Applications

Download or read book Spectral Analysis for Physical Applications written by Donald B. Percival and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1993-06-03 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an up-to-date introduction to univariate spectral analysis at the graduate level, which reflects a new scientific awareness of spectral complexity, as well as the widespread use of spectral analysis on digital computers with considerable computational power. The text provides theoretical and computational guidance on the available techniques, emphasizing those that work in practice. Spectral analysis finds extensive application in the analysis of data arising in many of the physical sciences, ranging from electrical engineering and physics to geophysics and oceanography. A valuable feature of the text is that many examples are given showing the application of spectral analysis to real data sets. Special emphasis is placed on the multitaper technique, because of its practical success in handling spectra with intricate structure, and its power to handle data with or without spectral lines. The text contains a large number of exercises, together with an extensive bibliography.

Book Two dimensional Signal Analysis

Download or read book Two dimensional Signal Analysis written by René Garello and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-03-01 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title sets out to show that 2-D signal analysis has its own role to play alongside signal processing and image processing. Concentrating its coverage on those 2-D signals coming from physical sensors (such as radars and sonars), the discussion explores a 2-D spectral approach but develops the modeling of 2-D signals and proposes several data-oriented analysis techniques for dealing with them. Coverage is also given to potential future developments in this area.
