Download or read book Assessment of the Warrant Officer Technical and Tactical Certification Course WOTTC written by Scott A. Beal and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In response to a request from the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, U.S. Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences (ARI) initiated a research effort to assess the effectiveness of the new Warrant Officer Technical and Tactical Certification Course (WOTTC) in terms of producing Special Forces (SF) Warrant Officers (WO) who could perform effectively on the job. A behaviorally anchored rating scale (BARS) was developed to assist in the assessment process. Seventeen SF battalion commanders and 13 senior WOs provided individual job performance ratings for 91 WOTTC graduates, in addition to rating their performance as a group relative to other SF WOs of the same rank and experience. In general, the ratings for junior WOs suggest that the WOTTC produces graduates who perform capably on the job. Written comments provided by leaders reinforced the positive assessment of the WOTTC graduates' job performance. This report describes the methods used to complete the effort, documents the results, and discusses how the findings reflect the utility of the WOTTC for SF WOs.

Download or read book Masculinities without Men written by Jean Bobby Noble and published by UBC Press. This book was released on 2010-10-01 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conventional ideas about gender and sexuality dictate that people born with male bodies naturally possess both a man's identity and a man's right to authority. Recent scholarship in the field of gender studies, however, exposes the complex political technologies that construct gender as a supposedly unchanging biological essence with self-evident links to physicality, identity, and power. In Masculinities without Men? Jean Bobby Noble explores how the construction of gender was thrown into crisis during the twentieth century, resulting in a permanent rupture in the sex/gender system, and how masculinity became an unstable category, altered across time, region, social class, and ethnicity.

Download or read book Army Leadership ADRP 6 22 written by Department Army and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2012-09-28 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Army doctrine reference publication (ADRP) 6-22 expands on the leadership principles established in Army doctrine publication (ADP) 6-22. ADRP 6-22 describes the Army's view of leadership, outlines the levels of leadership (direct, organizational, and strategic), and describes the attributes and core leader competencies across all levels. The principal audience for ADRP 6-22 is all leaders, military and civilian. Trainers and educators throughout the Army will also use this publication. Commanders, staffs, and subordinates ensure their decisions and actions comply with applicable United States, international, and, in some cases, host-nation laws and regulations. Commanders at all levels ensure their Soldiers operate in accordance with the law of war and the rules of engagement (see Field Manual [FM] 27-10). ADRP 6-22 uses joint terms where applicable. Selected joint and Army terms and definitions appear in both the glossary and the text. For definitions shown in the text, the term is italicized and the number of the proponent publication follows the definition. The use of the term influence throughout this publication reflects the definition of common English usage "the act or power of producing an effect without apparent exertion of force or direct exercise of command," as distinct from the usage outlined in FM 3-13. It is contrary to law for DOD to undertake operations intended to influence a domestic audience; nothing in this publication recommends activities in contravention of this law. ADRP 6-22 applies to the Active Army, Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and United States Army Reserve unless otherwise stated.

Individual chapters survey the perspectives, concepts, and findings on RPGs from key disciplines, like performance studies, sociology, psychology, education, economics, game design, literary studies, and more. Other chapters integrate insights from RPG studies around broadly significant topics, like transmedia worldbuilding, immersion, transgressive play, or player–character relations. Each chapter includes definitions of key terms and recommended readings to help fans, students, and scholars new to RPG studies find their way into this new interdisciplinary field.
