Book Healing with Form Energy and Light

Download or read book Healing with Form Energy and Light written by Tenzin Wangyal and published by Shambhala Publications. This book was released on 2002-04-24 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Buddhist manual for replacing an anxious, narrow, uncomfortable identity with one that is expansive, peaceful, and capable. In the shamanic worldview of Tibet, the five elements of earth, water, fire, air, and space are accessed through the raw powers of nature and through non-physical beings associated with the natural world. The Tibetan tantric view recognizes the elements as five kinds of energy in the body and balances them with a program of yogic movements, breathing exercises, and visualizations. In Dzogchen teachings, the elements are understood to be the radiance of being, and are accessed through pure awareness. Healing with Form, Energy, and Light offers the reader healing meditations and yogic practices on each of these levels. Tenzin Rinpoche's purpose is to strengthen our connection to the sacred aspect of the natural world and to present a guide that explains why certain practices are necessary and in what situations practices are effective or a hindrance. And the world too is transformed from dead matter and blind processes into a sacred landscape filled with an infinite variety of living forces and beings. "The secrets freely given in this volume can help us lay sound foundations for whatever yogic practice we may adopt. Tenzin Rinpoche has rendered all a great service." —Yoga Studies

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of my book, The Tip of the Arrow, A Study in Leadership, is to share with young people of today and tomorrow the story of young people like me at age sixteen as the blueprint of the Selma Student Nonviolent Civil Rights movement, a significant impacting factor in the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the dominating influence leading to the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. On February 24, 2016, during a ceremony awarding the Congressional Gold Medal at the US Capitol in Washington, DC, I beamed with personal pride upon hearing Speaker Paul Ryan's statement that Congress decided to bestow the award to the foot soldiers because their contribution to our country was so great that they deserved the highest honor in our possession, the Congressional Gold Medal. The Tip of the Arrow is our story.

Book excerpt: The Complete Collection by William Walker Atkinson, under the pen name Yogi Ramacharaka, offers a comprehensive exploration of mystical Christianity, yogi philosophy, and Oriental occultism. Through a series of works such as 'The Spirit of the Upanishads,' 'Bhagavad Gita,' and 'Raja Yoga,' Atkinson delves deep into the spiritual practices and beliefs of the East, weaving together a tapestry of wisdom for readers seeking enlightenment. His writing style is clear, concise, and profound, making complex philosophical concepts accessible to a wider audience. Atkinson's work stands out in the literary context of the early 20th century, where Western interest in Eastern spirituality was on the rise, influencing thinkers and artists alike. William Walker Atkinson, a prolific writer and influential figure in the New Thought movement, combined his legal background with a deep interest in metaphysics and spirituality. His dedication to synthesizing Eastern and Western philosophies led him to adopt the pen name Yogi Ramacharaka, under which he penned numerous books on esoteric subjects. Uplifting and inspirational, Nack shares her wisdom based on the course principles and her own insight gained throughout years of study, practice, and teaching. Praise for Becoming a Miracle Worker Bonnie Nack is a skilled writer, clear and easy to read and she has an in-depth understanding of the teaching of A Course in Miracles. Book Ontology of Consciousness

Download or read book Ontology of Consciousness written by Helmut Wautischer and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2008-04-11 with total page 669 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scholars from many different disciplines examine consciousness through the lens of intellectual approaches and cultures ranging from cosmology research and cell biophysics laboratories to pre-Columbian Mesoamerica and Tibetan Tantric Buddhism in a volume that extends consciousness studies beyond the limits of current neuroscience research. The "hard problem" of today's consciousness studies is subjective experience: understanding why some brain processing is accompanied by an experienced inner life. Recent scientific advances offer insights for understanding the physiological and chemical phenomenology of consciousness. But by leaving aside the internal experiential nature of consciousness in favor of mapping neural activity, such science leaves many questions unanswered. In Ontology of Consciousness, scholars from a range of disciplines—from neurophysiology to parapsychology, from mathematics to anthropology and indigenous non-Western modes of thought—go beyond these limits of current neuroscience research to explore insights offered by other intellectual approaches to consciousness. These scholars focus their attention on such philosophical approaches to consciousness as Tibetan Tantric Buddhism, North American Indian insights, pre-Columbian Mesoamerican civilization, and the Byzantine Empire. Some draw on artifacts and ethnographic data to make their point. Others translate cultural concepts of consciousness into modern scientific language using models and mathematical mappings. Many consider individual experiences of sentience and existence, as seen in African communalism, Hindi psychology, Zen Buddhism, Indian vibhuti phenomena, existentialism, philosophical realism, and modern psychiatry. Some reveal current views and conundrums in neurobiology to comprehend sentient intellection.
