Particular attention is given to participatory identification of important problems facing the fisherfolk, and the planning, mobilization of local resources, and implementation of locally based microprojects to deal with them. The operation and management of the CFC, and of the associated multidisciplinary Fisheries Development Unit which provides technical support and training to one or more CFCs, is covered in some detail.
