L'utilisation du système de classification UNIFORMAT II retrouve toute son utilité dans l'utilisation du processus BIM dans la codification d'une base de données relationnelle orientée objet. Ceci permettra à l'estimateur de réduire les contingences et les allocations, et de présenter une estimation beaucoup plus précise avec une probabilité faible de dépassement du budget...Ce guide est conçu à l'intention des estimateurs, des architectes, des ingénieurs, des planificateurs, des gestionnaires de projet, des propriétaires d'immeubles et des entrepreneurs en construction. Son contenu est adapté aux besoins particuliers des propriétaires, des gestionnaires d'immeubles ou des corporations qui développent des projets de construction et qui veulent exercer un meilleur contrôle des coûts de leurs projets.
