Book Apprentissage d une repr sentation statistique et topologique d un environnement

Download or read book Apprentissage d une repr sentation statistique et topologique d un environnement written by Linda Tomasini and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neural networks represent a powerful data processing technique that has reached maturity and broad application. When clearly understood and appropriately used, they are a mandatory component in the toolbox of any engineer who wants make the best use of the available data, in order to build models, make predictions, mine data, recognize shapes or signals, etc. Ranging from theoretical foundations to real-life applications, this book is intended to provide engineers and researchers with clear methodologies for taking advantage of neural networks in industrial, financial or banking applications, many instances of which are presented in the book. For the benefit of readers wishing to gain deeper knowledge of the topics, the book features appendices that provide theoretical details for greater insight, and algorithmic details for efficient programming and implementation. The chapters have been written by experts and edited to present a coherent and comprehensive, yet not redundant, practically oriented introduction.

  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2008-05-26
  • ISBN : 3540684158
  • Pages : 275 pages

Download or read book Mining Complex Data written by Zbigniew W. Ras and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-05-26 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Workshop on Mining Complex Data, MCD 2007, held in Warsaw, Poland, in September 2007, co-located with ECML and PKDD 2007. The 20 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected; they present original results on knowledge discovery from complex data. In contrast to the typical tabular data, complex data can consist of heterogenous data types, can come from different sources, or live in high dimensional spaces. All these specificities call for new data mining strategies.

Book Product Life Cycle Management

Download or read book Product Life Cycle Management written by Max Giordano and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2012-12-17 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a comprehensive view of the most recent major international research in the field of tolerancing, and is an excellent resource for anyone interested in Computer Aided Tolerating. It is organized into 4 parts. Part 1 focuses on the more general problems of tolerance analysis and synthesis, for tolerancing in mechanical design and manufacturing processes. Part 2 specifically highlights the simulation of assembly with defects, and the influence of tolerances on the quality of the assembly. Part 3 deals with measurement aspects, and quality control throughout the life cycle. Different measurement technologies and methods for estimating uncertainty are considered. In Part 4, different aspects of tolerancing and their interactions are explored, from the definition of functional requirement to measurement processes in a PLM approach.

Book excerpt: This report, prepared by the Office of Technological Assessment (OTA) in response to a request from the House Committee on the Judiciary, examines the rapid and complex technological changes and trends in computer software technologies and their possible effects on the nation's intellectual property system. The three policy issues identified are: (1) the appropriate scope of copyright protection for computer software; (2) patent protection for software-related inventions and algorithms and how the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office will handle these types of applications; and (3) complications facing libraries and commercial and private producers and users of digital information, including computer-based mixed media products. A summary of this report is published separately which contains information found in the first chapter of the complete report. The complete report is divided into six chapters: (1) Summary, Issues, and Options; (2) The Law (patents, copyright, and trade secret law); (3) The International Arena; (4) Software Technology and the Law; (5) Digital Information and Copyright (print and nonprint electronic publishing); and (6) Economics, Intellectual Property and Software. Three appendixes provide a review of selected computer hardware and software initiatives overseas; an analysis of the European Economic Community Treaty and its structure and function; and a list of workshop participants and reviewers. The names of the members of the Congressional Advisory Panel and the OTA project staff are also provided. (ALF).

Elena Nardi achieves this by employing two fictional, yet entirely data-grounded, characters to create a conversation on these important issues. The construction of these characters is based on large bodies of data including intense focused group interviews with mathematicians and extensive analyses of students' written work, collected and analyzed over a substantial period.
