Book Performance Measures for Evaluating the Effectiveness of Maintenance Training

Download or read book Performance Measures for Evaluating the Effectiveness of Maintenance Training written by Richard S. Gibson and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper reviews and summarizes 17 studies concerned with the collection of objective performance data for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of maintenance training. The results are discussed in relation to five major aspects of evaluating the effectiveness of training: 1) transfer of training, 2)quality of simulation, 3) effects of training on individual performance, 4) differential effects of alternative methods of training, and 5) the effects of training and experience on unit performance and operational readiness. Based on the analyses, a number of areas for future research and development were suggested. Keywords: simulators, simulated aviation maintenance training, training, training research, performance measurement.

Book New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodologies Tools and Techniques

Download or read book New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodologies Tools and Techniques written by H. Fujita and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 2023-10-03 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Software is an essential enabler for science and the new economy, but current software methodologies, tools, and techniques are often still not sufficiently robust or reliable for the constantly changing and evolving market, and many promising approaches have proved to be no more than case-oriented methods that are not fully automated. This book presents the proceedings of SoMeT_23, the 22nd International Conference on New Trends in Intelligent Software Methodology, Tools, and Techniques, held from 20–22 September 2023 in Naples, Italy. The conference brings together researchers and practitioners to share original research and practical development experience in software science and related new technologies, and is an opportunity for the software-science community to take stock of where they are today and consider future directions. The 25 papers included here were carefully selected from the many high-quality submissions received after a rigorous review process, with each paper typically being reviewed by 3 or 4 reviewers. Topics covered range from research practices, techniques and methodologies to the solutions required by global business. SoMeT_23 focused in particular on intelligent software, the application of artificial intelligence techniques in software development, and tackling human interaction in the development process for better high-level interface, with an emphasis on human-centric software methodologies, end-user development techniques, and emotional reasoning for an optimum performance between design tool and user. Exploring trends, theories, and challenges in the integration of software and science for tomorrow’s global information society, the book captures a new state-of-the-art in software science and its supporting technology and will be of interest to all those working in the field.

Book Self assessment Based Mini after Action Review SAMAAR Methodology

Download or read book Self assessment Based Mini after Action Review SAMAAR Methodology written by Angelo Mirabella and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This research was conducted as a pilot effort in proparation for anticipated future research applications of the self assessment based mini-AAR (SAMAAR) approach. The approach combines the Army's Socratic based after action review with the Delphi technique. Delphi elicits independent judgments from experts before bringing them together to solve problems as a group. In the SAMAAR approach, trainees, at the end of an excerise day or shift fill out rating forms to assess the units training progress and then convine with their completed forms to participate in a mini-AAR. The mini-AAR is preliminary training review carried out by small groups prior to an end of exercise after action review. SAMAAR was developmentally applied to Division Artillery Staff training at Fort Hood. The approach was judged by training participants to be a feasible and timely way to support training feedback."--DTIC.
