Book excerpt: L'hydrogène pour des raisons de sécurité et de compacité peut être stockée sous forme d'hydrure métallique à basse pression d'équilibre. Le palladium est couramment utilisé à cette fin : la pression d'équilibre de l'hydrure de palladium est inférieure à 1 bar à 25ʻC. Pour certaines applications, il est nécessaire de pouvoir modifier à volonté les pressions d'équilibre de formation et de décomposition des hydrures afin de les adapter à des besoins précis. La pression d'équilibre de l'hydrure de Pd étant jugée trop faible on substitue le palladium par le rhodium et/ou le platine. Le but de ce travail était d'étudier la structure électronique, la stabilité sous hydrogène et le comportement au cours d'un vieillissement sous tritium des alliages binaires et ternaires. Une étude de la structure électronique des alliages binaires Pd-Pt et Pd-Rh a permis d'établir une relation entre la structure électronique des alliages hôtes et les propriétés d'hydruration. L'étude de la stabilité des alliages binaires et ternaires a montré que les alliages étaient tous stables dans des conditions standard de stockage à condition qu'ils contiennent moins de 10% de rhodium. D'autre part, nous avons montré un comportement original des alliages ternaires vis à vis du vieillissement sous tritium.
