Book Antennas with Transmission line Interconnections

Download or read book Antennas with Transmission line Interconnections written by Ronold Wyeth Percival King and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arrays of cylindrical dipoles and monopoles are usually driven by means of interconnecting transmission lines, whereas analyses of such arrays are generally made in terms of currents or voltages with assigned relative amplitudes and phases at the individual input terminals. Moreover, it is commonly assumed that the distributions of current along all elements are the same and without phase variation. In this report the properties of broadside and endfire arrays are treated with full consideration of interconnecting transmission lines and the effect of mutual coupling on the distributions of current. Driving-point admittances and field patterns of arrays of half-wave and full-wave elements are given. A novel broadside-endfire array is described. (Author).

Book Antennas as Transmission Lines

Download or read book Antennas as Transmission Lines written by John Lenahan and published by . This book was released on 2022-06-25 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Antennas as Transmission Lines: Linear Antenna Analysis and Design Requiring Only Algebra and Trigonometry The models presented in this book treat antennas as transmission lines. The antenna as transmission line models in this book will help you learn about antennas in a way that does not require advanced mathematics. The chapters are arranged in sections to apply transmission line models to examples of real life antennas, which are then compared to computer software models. Some examples in this book are validated by measurement of full size physical models. Treating linear antennas as transmission lines, using trig and log functions, with some Algebra, makes it possible to calculate circuit models of feed point impedance as would be measured with an antenna analyzer or VNA (vector network analyzer). Through the use of the transmission line model, linear antennas in this book are reduced to basic AC circuit components - resistors, inductors and capacitors. The insight into antennas from using transmission line models can transform your ability to visualize, analyze and synthesize antennas to your benefit. Over the years of using and teaching this method my understanding of antennas has been improved and expanded. Yours can too using examples within the pages of this book.

Book Terahertz Planar Antennas for Next Generation Communication

Download or read book Terahertz Planar Antennas for Next Generation Communication written by Kumud Ranjan Jha and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-01-10 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes various methods to enhance the directivity of planar antennas, enabling the next generation of high frequency, wireless communication. The authors discuss various applications to the terahertz regime of the electromagnetic spectrum, with an emphasis on gain enhancement mechanisms. The numerical models of these antennas are presented and the analytical results are supported, using commercial simulators. The multilayer substrate microstrip transmission line at terahertz frequency is also explored and a method to obtain the various parameters of this interconnect at high frequency is described. This book will be a valuable resource for anyone needing to explore the terahertz band gap for future wireless communication, in an effort to solve the bandwidth (spectrum scarcity) problem.

Book Electromagnetic Field Interaction with Transmission Lines

Download or read book Electromagnetic Field Interaction with Transmission Lines written by Farhad Rachidi and published by WIT Press. This book was released on 2008 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The evaluation of electromagnetic field coupling to transmission lines is an important problem in electromagnetic compatibility. Traditionally, use is made of the TL approximation which applies to uniform transmission lines with electrically small cross-sectional dimensions, where the dominant mode of propagation is TEM. Antenna-mode currents and higher-order modes appearing at higher frequencies are neglected in TL theory. The use of the TL approximation has permitted to solve a large range of problems (e.g. lightning and EMP interaction with power lines). However, the continual increase in operating frequency of products and higher frequency sources of disturbances (such as UWB systems) makes that the TL basic assumptions are no longer acceptable for a certain number of applications. In the last decade or so, the generalization of classical TL theory to take into account high frequency effects has emerged as an important topic of study in electromagnetic compatibility. This effort resulted in the elaboration of the so-called 'generlized' or 'full-wave' TL theory, which incorporates high frequency radiation effects, while keeping the relative simplicity of TL equations. This book is organized in two main parts. Part I presents consolidated knowledge of classical transmission line theory and different field-to-transmission line coupling models. Part II presents different approaches developed to generalize TL Theory.
