Book VHF and UHF Antennas

Download or read book VHF and UHF Antennas written by R. A. Burberry and published by IET. This book was released on 1992 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Describes the VHF and UHF antennas for the 30-3000 Mhz range that have been developed over the past 50 years, including many designs that have not previously been treated in detail, and several new uses for old designs. Among the topics are methods of predicting and measuring the performance of antennas, and how it is affected by the local environment, both normal and adverse, and by the structures on which the antennas are mounted, both fixed and mobile (including humans). Addressed primarily to practicing antenna engineers; the basic theory is assumed to be known except for the less known types. Distributed by INSPEC. Book Numerical Approach for Predicting Radiation Patterns of HF VHF Antennas Over Irregular Terrain

Download or read book Numerical Approach for Predicting Radiation Patterns of HF VHF Antennas Over Irregular Terrain written by Valdis V. Liepa and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The feasibility of using physical optics approximation for computing radiation patterns of ground-based HF-VHF antennas in the presence of known ground irregularities is investigated. A computer program was written for physical optics formulation to evaluate the composite radiation patterns of a line source above an irregular, but deterministic, perfectly conducting surface. For the special case of a line source above a perfectly conducting plane with semicylindrical boss, the exact field expressions are derived, and the numerical results are compared with those obtained by physical optics for the same geometry. An error criterion that gives a meaningful error estimate at both the maxima and minima values of the radiation pattern is formulated and applied to the computed result. It is concluded that physical optics approximations can be used for predicting the radiation patterns of ground-based HF-VHF antennas.

Book Antenna Toolkit

Download or read book Antenna Toolkit written by Joseph Carr and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-09-11 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Joe Carr has provided radio amateurs and short-wave listeners with the definitive design guide for sending and receiving radio signals with Antenna Toolkit 2nd edition.Together with the powerful suite of CD software, the reader will have a complete solution for constructing or using an antenna - bar the actual hardware! The software provides a simple Windows-based aid to carrying out the design calculations at the heart of successful antenna design. All the user needs to do is select the antenna type and set the frequency - a much more fun and less error prone method than using a conventional calculator to solve formulae. The new edition has been revised to include further cases of propagation, additional antennas and also two new chapters - Small Loop Antennas (a topic of considerable interest, which has been the subject of much recent debate in the amateur radio press); and Yagi Beam Antennas (widely used at HF and VHF). The CD software has also been updated.Joe Carr's expertise in the area of antenna design is legendary. Antenna designers, whether hobbyist or technician, can be assured they need look no further than Antenna Toolkit for the complete guide to understanding the practicalities of using and designing antennas today. A complete solution for antenna design in one package.Includes free CD-ROM with state of the art software for all design calculations. The definitive guide to antenna design for radio amateurs and short-wave listeners.
