It is organized into three major areas: Natural Resources Service, Land & Forest Service, and Environmental Service, with financial and administrative support from three other services. This annual report contains the audited financial statements of the Ministry and a comparison of actual performance results to desired results set out in the Ministry's business plan, including a message from the Minister. The Ministry's audited financial statements include the accounts of the Dept. of Environmental Protection, revolving funds, regulated funds, provincial agencies, and Crown-controlled corporations for which the Minister is responsible. The report includes, either as a separate report or as part of financial statements, the reports or statements prepared pursuant to the Financial Administration Act. A summary of expenditures under each appropriation in the Ministry is included as required by the Government Accountability Act. Financial information related to the Environmental Protection & Enhancement Fund, the Natural Resources Conservation Board, and the Alberta Special Waste Management Corporation are included as supplementary information.
