Toutes les jointures sont bouchées, et toutes les pièces réunies par un lut composé d'un mélange de trois parties de terre à four finement tami sée une partie de maeicot, et de l'eau salée de maniere à avoir une pâte molle. Quand le lut est sec la grille est posée sur un fourneau, de manière que le ballon se trouve dans le foyer; sur la grille sont placés deux laboratoires qui forment le foyer destiné à chauffer le creuset.
