A bird knocks insistently on your window, your cat brings you a lizard, you find yourself face to face with a spider or you dream of an elephant ... what if each animal had a message for you? Animals have always been a source of fascination for humans - we love to watch them, learn about them and keep them as pets. But what if animals could actually communicate with us? In this complete guide, you'll find everything you need to know about the symbolism and signs of more than 150 animals, whether they appear to you in a dream or 'happen' to cross your path. You'll learn their individual characteristics as well as the elements and seasons they're associated with. You'll also discover what these encounters mean for different aspects of your life including love, career, family and health. Messages from the animal world are always filled with compassion but animals aren't there to flatter your ego. Rather, they aim to help you advance in consciousness in your life's journey. Sometimes you'll receive an encouraging sign that confirms you're on the right path or guidance to help you move forward. Other times, an animal will deliver a deeper lesson for you to explore, because that's how we learn. More than anything, their messages can open avenues of questioning and help to make your way forward clearer. The animals wish you well; they want you to hear their messages. Let them become your guides!

Book excerpt: "'This book is a major contribution to culture and to the psychoanalytic literature. The authors explore how animals, both wild and domesticated, have powerful symbolic meanings in our psyches, mythology, religion, literature, art, music, and popular culture. From the prehistoric art of Lascaux to Picasso, from The Fly to the American eagle, the psychoanalytic perceptions are subtle and suggestive, the aesthetic, film, and national insights are a delight.'-Peter Loewenberg, Dean, Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute, Professor of History and Political Psychology, UCLA'Our cousins - the animals - swarm, creep, fly, swim, and crawl all about us, even sharing our houses and infesting our bodies. We hunt them, breed, them, clothe ourselves with them, and eat them for dinner (as they sometimes do to us). They populate our literature, myths, religions, arts, our language and its metaphors, and they haunt our unconscious fantasies and our dreams. The profoundest, fiercest, and most intimate urges and feelings within us are our animal passions and instincts. The parade of animals that accompany us through this life is held up for review and appreciation in these delightful essays, all of which share a dedication to the understanding of human life and culture through the lens of psychoanalytic theory in its manifold diversity.'- Robert A. Paul, PhD, Candler Professor of Anthropology and Dean, Emory College"--Provided by publisher.

Book Animal Life In Nature Myth and Dreams

Download or read book Animal Life In Nature Myth and Dreams written by Elizabeth Caspari and published by Chiron Publications. This book was released on 2003-09-01 with total page 588 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Animal Life in Nature, Myth and Dreams, Elizabeth Caspari connects the world of real, living animals with the symbolic world of animal images in human thought, both conscious and unconscious. She gives the reader an opportunity to make this connection on his or her own personal journey of discovery. This book is a study of animals-their natural history, mythology, folklore, and religious significance around the world as well as their role in our lives, dreams, and everyday language. It examines the symbolic impact animals have on our collective culture, particularly on our own personal and interior lives. From Albatross to Zebra, each animal is pictured in color and factual context is given about its behavior in the natural world. Information is included about habitat, distribution, weight, size, longevity, and classification. By drawing on a process of amplification developed by C.G. Jung, in which an image is related to a previous historical, mythological, religious, or ethnological context, Animal Life in Nature, Myth and Dreams discusses the meaning of the animal in a dream, amplifying the reader's understanding of that animal. Intended for anyone interested in the actual behavior and nature of animals and the world we live in, Animal Life presents a good deal of ethological and mythological material. By contemplating the significance of our fellow creatures, and how everything in our universe is connected, Animal Life offers a more whole, and more healing, view of the world. Fully illustrated in color.

Book Non Traditional Psychoanalysis

Download or read book Non Traditional Psychoanalysis written by Andrey Davydov and published by HPA Press. This book was released on 2015-08-28 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the topic of Systemic Research In The Field Of Human Psychophysiology. In this topic, the following question was interesting to researchers: "Why with principled psychophysiological sameness of humans, qualities differ?" Answers to this and many other questions were found as a result of 40 years of fundamental research carried out by an expert in Chinese culture Andrey Davydov and his colleagues. Among ancient Chinese monuments Russian researcher Andrey Davydov discovered the Catalog of human population. The title of this ancient source is Shan Hai Jing (translated from Chinese as the Catalog of Mountains and Seas). Official science still does not know for certain the dating of Shan Hai Jing and the author of this text. However, in this source A. Davydov found very detailed descriptions of psychophysiological structure of 293 subtypes of the biological type Homo sapiens. Thus, the answer to the question "What is human psyche and what is its structure?" was found. "The Catalog of human population is a description of a human as a type by subtype structures. Subtype structure (“psyche”, “soul”) is a combination of individual archetypes, recorded at the genetic level (principle). Expressions and interaction of subtype structures in manipulation modes and phenological algorithms are described with adjustments for gender, age and cultural differences. Information is recorded on six factors." This definition was developed by Andrey Davydov—the author of discovery and decryption of the Catalog of human population. Despite that this scientific discovery was made back in the 80s of the XX century, was verified in scientific institutions in Russia, has a wide range of practical applications, and for the past 20 years is being used in daily lives of those who known about it—unfortunately, it shared the fate of many scientific discoveries, which do not fit into traditional scientific concepts. And, as is known, if something is contrary to an existing paradigm, then it gets rejected as pseudoscience, quackery, flawed experience or simply a figment of imagination. For this reason, the scientific community still prefers to remain silent about the Catalog of human population, even though some very eminent academics (not only Russian) have long known about A. Davydov’s discovery. The matter was complicated by that for almost a decade a group of officers of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation led by Colonel Andrey Dmitrievich Polonchuk persecuted and tried to physically destroy A. Davydov and his colleague in research—psychologist Olga Skorbatyuk. As a result, they suffered extensive damage to their health, had to leave their homeland and flee to the USA where they were granted political asylum. However, this story is described in detail in another book of the Catalog Of Human Souls series titled Shan Hai Jing—A Book Covered In Blood, while this book is devoted to some of the scientific monographs, presentations made at scientific conferences and scientific articles. This is certainly a very small amount of materials compared to the volume of research carried out between 1974 and 2014 by the author of the scientific discovery of the Catalog human population A. Davydov and his colleagues at the Special Scientific Info-Analytical Laboratory—Catalog Of Human Souls. The reasons for this are wide field for research, strenuous work schedule, and, of course, value priorities. For some time now, we prefer to present results of our scientific research not in scientific articles, but in popular science books, intended for a wide audience. In our view, this is quite logical, as it makes more sense to take the time to tell about the Catalog of human population to those, who are actively using it on practice, instead of those, who prefer ephemeral values such as scientific degrees, awards and authority in the world of science instead of knowledge and benefits, which this knowledge provides. We hope that our colleagues will understand and forgive us for this.
