Download or read book Angiography Scintigraphy written by L. Diethelm and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The symposium on Angiography/Scintigraphy brought to Mainz in the fall of 1970 not only many European colleagues with an interest in these techniques, but also a number of visitors from overseas. These busy, work-filled days are beginning to fade in the memory of those who were there. Nevertheless, the scientific results reported on that occasion still supply the guidelines for what is currently being done in radiology and nuclear medicine. Anyone who has kept abreast of the literature over the past few years will have noted with some surprise how comparisons of the results obtained with these two important diagnostic aids continue to provoke controversy. One thing is certain: the emblem chosen for the Mainz symposium could hardly have been more appropriate. Like two cogwheels meshing in some complex piece of machinery, these radiological procedures demand the highest level of skill and precision before they will function properly on engaging so as to produce optimal results. Their findings complement each other in almost ideal fashion. Even though development in these two diagnostic disciplines has not exactly stood still since 1970, the papers given at this symposium established the fundamentals from which have stemmed many an intelligent adaptation of a method, many a cunning modification of an instrument and, not least, many a new research lead. This is why we applaud the initiative of Professor Diethelm of Mainz, whose brainchild this symposium was, in making the proceedings available to a wider audience.

Download or read book Imaging of Soft Tissue Tumors written by Arthur M DeSchepper and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 645 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Only with the advent of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging have radiologists become familiar with this uncommon pathology. The emphasis here is on MRI, as it guarantees the most accurate diagnosis of soft tissue tumours. Because of their rarity, multi-centric studies are necessary to collect statistically relevant numbers of these tumours and so assess the value of new imaging techniques in their detection, staging, grading, tissue characterisation, and post-treatment follow-up. This is a reflection of the work of a prestigious European study group of more than 30 such co-investigators - including experts on medical imaging - who collected more than 800 documented and histologically proven cases of soft tissue tumours. For each tumour type, 10-12 cases are shown, supported by 3-4 photos. Unsurpassed in its collection of case studies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nuclear cardiac imaging is the diagnostic technique of using radiology and chemical markers to track cardiac performance. These imaging studies provide a wide range of information about the heart, including how much the heart contracts, the amount of blood supply to the heart and whether parts of the heart muscle are alive or dead. This is essential information for cardiologists, and nuclear imaging has become an increasingly important part of the cardiologist's armoury of diagnostic techniques. Iskandrian's text has become a leading book in the field and the fourth edition will continue the tradition. The text is updated throughout to reflect the many advances in the field, and, as a new feature, each chapter concludes with a question and answer session on important and difficult clinical issues.

This book was released on 2010-10-19 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Doody's Core Title 2012 New applications of echocardiography, nuclear magnetic resonance, cardiovascular magnetic resonance, and cardiac computed tomography are rapidly developing and it is imperative that trainees and practitioners alike remain up to date in the latest developments. It is becoming increasingly difficult to remain abreast of these advances in each individual modality and thus it is no longer practical to focus on one at a time. In addition, training guidelines are changing and multimodality training has become the norm. Multimodality Imaging in Cardiovascular Medicine presents a clear and in-depth review of the available technologies and evidence supporting their appropriate clinical applications. Hundreds of outstanding images are included to support and augment the discussions from the leading experts in each modality. For maximum clinical value, rather than organize the content by imaging modality, the book is organized by disease so that the reader can utilize the book in real-time problem solving and decision making in daily clinical practice. Features of Multimodality Imaging in Cardiovascular Medicine Include More than 350 multimodality imaging examples of cardiovascular pathophysiology Corresponding text places the images into context at the interface with patient care State-of-the-art chapters contributed by the leading imaging experts "
