Book Andean Copper Deposits

Download or read book Andean Copper Deposits written by Francisco Camus and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The copper deposits of Peru consist of porphyry CuM̨o, Au, Ag, breccia pipe Cu-Mo, enargite vein and replacement CuĄu, Ag, Zn, Pb, calcic skarn CuF̨e, Au, Zn, amphibolitic skarn CuF̨e, volcanogenic massive sulfide Cu-Zn, vein and manto CuĄg, Pb, Zn, Sn, W, and sandstone ('red bed') Cu types. The vast majority of these deposits formed during the Andean Orogeny and are geographically and chronologically distributed in well-defined metallogenic domains. These domains correlate with geochemically distinct magmatic episodes.

Book Stratabound Ore Deposits in the Andes

Download or read book Stratabound Ore Deposits in the Andes written by Lluis Fontbote and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-27 with total page 812 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present volume Stratabound Ore Deposits in the Andes has its roots in an international seminar on stratabound ore deposits which took place in September 1986 in Cusco, Peru, sponsored by Multi ciencias (Peru) and UNESCO. During this seminar it became clear that the amount and quality of research done on stratabound ore deposits in the Andes required a synthesis. Researchers in industry and government as well as in academia, including many which had participated at the Cusco Seminar, were invited to contribute. The answer was extremely positive, confirming the idea that a book expressing the state of the art of the study of stratabound ore deposits in the Andes was long overdue. As editors we sought to give maximum coverage to the present knowledge, yet keeping the length, and thereby the price, within rea sonable limits. The book contains three types of contributions. In the first part the reader will find review papers focusing on ( 1) the geologic framework (Frutos), (2) the metallogenesis in Andean countries including also types of deposits differing from those of stratabound nature (Cardozo and Cedillo, Oyarzun), and (3) an in troductory overview of the stratabound ore deposits in the Andes, emphasizing their geotectonic position as a classification tool (Font bote).

Book Andes Mining Company Archive

Download or read book Andes Mining Company Archive written by Andes Mining Company and published by . This book was released on 1900 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Manuscript album. "An archive of papers, maps, assay documents and reports, planning documentation for the mining of copper and related non-ferrous ores as well as coal. The papers describe elaborate plans employing hundreds of men, cost estimates, organizing transport, building short run railways, water sources, etc. in the provinces of Huaylas and Pallasca in Peru. There is also a small section devoted to the company's interests in copper mining in Arizona (the Copper King Mine). The most extensive documentation deals with South American operations. Much of it of a sensitive nature replete with coded telegraphic communications"--Bookseller's catalog description.

Book Andean Metallogeny

Download or read book Andean Metallogeny written by Richard H. Sillitoe and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A variety of metals and deposit types define the metallogeny of the Andes from Colombia through Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia to Argentina and Chile, although porphyry copper and epithermal gold deposits undoubtedly predominate and will continue to do so. This introductory article selects mineralization styles and relationships as well as some broader metallogenic parameters as simple examples of geologic concepts that may assist exploration.

Book Quantitative Mineral Resource Assessment of Copper Molybdenum Gold and Silver in Undiscovered Porphyry Copper Deposits in the Andes Mountains of South America

Download or read book Quantitative Mineral Resource Assessment of Copper Molybdenum Gold and Silver in Undiscovered Porphyry Copper Deposits in the Andes Mountains of South America written by and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quantitative information on the general locations and amounts of undiscovered porphyry copper resources of the world is important to exploration managers, land-use and environmental planners, economists, and policy makers. This publication contains the results of probabilistic estimates of the amounts of copper (Cu), molybdenum (Mo), gold (Au), and silver (Ag) in undiscovered porphyry copper deposits in the Andes Mountains of South America. The methodology used to make these estimates is called the "Three-Part Form." It was developed to explicitly express estimates of undiscovered resources and associated uncertainty in a form that allows economic analysis and is useful to decisionmakers. The three-part form of assessment includes: (1) delineation of tracts of land where the geology is permissive for porphyry copper deposits to form; (2) selection of grade and tonnage models appropriate for estimating grades and tonnages of the undiscovered porphyry copper deposits in each tract; and (3) estimation of the number of undiscovered porphyry copper deposits in each tract consistent with the grade and tonnage model. A Monte Carlo simulation computer program (EMINERS) was used to combine the probability distributions of the estimated number of undiscovered deposits, the grades, and the tonnages of the selected model to obtain the probability distributions for undiscovered metals in each tract. These distributions of grades and tonnages then can be used to conduct economic evaluations of undiscovered resources in a format usable by decisionmakers. Economic evaluations are not part of this report. The results of this assessment are presented in two principal parts. The first part identifies 26 regional tracts of land where the geology is permissive for the occurrence of undiscovered porphyry copper deposits of Phanerozoic age to a depth of 1 km below the Earth's surface. These tracts are believed to contain most of South America's undiscovered resources of copper. The second part presents probabilistic estimates of the amounts of copper, molybdenum, gold, and silver in undiscovered porphyry copper deposits in each tract. The study also provides tables showing the location, tract number, and age (if available) of discovered deposits and prospects. For each of the 26 permissive tracts delineated in this study, summary information is provided on: (1) the rationale for delineating the tract; (2) the rationale for choosing the mineral deposit model used to assess the tract; (3) discovered deposits and prospects; (4) exploration history; and (5) the distribution of undiscovered deposits in the tract. The scale used to evaluate geologic information and draw tracts is 1:1,000,000.
