Book Foundations for a Successful Marriage

Download or read book Foundations for a Successful Marriage written by Mark H. Bayer Ed.D. and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-02-21 with total page 119 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers five key areas which will determine if a marriage has the greatest potential of being rewarding. Marriage is a balance of these factors which will either add or detract from the relationship. The better these areas function together the more rewarding the relationship can be. Although these five areas are typically common to books on marriage, the author seeks to look at the core issues behind each topic. For example, communication is more than just talking. Communication must include being willing to hear your partner rather than just listening to them. The goal is to maintain a positive attitude while understanding that no couple will have a marriage free of problems. With this foundation, the couple can better understand the weakest areas in their marriage and work on improving them.

Book Reviews by Cat Ellington

Download or read book Reviews by Cat Ellington written by Cat Ellington and published by Quill Pen Ink Publishing. This book was released on 2023-09-16 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The final installment in its respective series, Reviews by Cat Ellington: The Complete Anthology, Vol. 9, presented in a neutral hue of Teal, marks the end of the first era in the literary criticism of its author, Cat Ellington. Capping a 42-year-old collection—from 1979 to 2021—of analyses that began with Reviews by Cat Ellington: The Complete Anthology, Vol. 1, Book 9 features Ellington's witty—and typical—take on a diverse set of great (and not so great) works of fiction and nonfiction, including Creepy Teacher by Mackie Malone, Madhouse by Miguel Estrada, The Papyrus Empire (Empire Saga 1) by Niels Saunders, You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, 29 Seconds by T.M. Logan, The Escape Room by Megan Goldin, and many more. Once again, Ellington brings her energetic vibe and no-nonsense approach to the proverbial table, composing the insightful and comprehensive analysis that has become her trademark. And with that, she ends the first era of her one-of-a-kind literary criticism on an enrapturing note. So settle down, why don't you, and prepare to lose yourself in the analytical creativity of its wondrously original, ever admired, undiluted, pleasantly fun-filled, and incredibly thought-provoking authorship. Reviews by Cat Ellington. A unique critique.

Book Persecution and Cosmic Conflict

Download or read book Persecution and Cosmic Conflict written by Joshua Caleb Hutchens and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2024-03-11 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “But just as then the child born as a result of the flesh persecuted the one born as a result of the Spirit, so also now” (Gal 4:29 CSB). Why do God’s people suffer? In Galatians, Paul makes an argument from persecution for the authenticity of his gospel. Persecution demonstrates that Paul and the Galatians belong to God and have believed in the divinely revealed gospel. While Paul does not offer an explicit theodicy in Galatians, his argument from persecution requires an implicit one. Paul’s theodicy can primarily be understood through his interpretation of earlier Scripture, especially the story of Isaac and Ishmael in Genesis. In Persecution and Cosmic Conflict, Joshua Caleb Hutchens examines the theme of persecution in Galatians and Paul’s theological context in earlier Scriptures and early Judaism. Hutchens argues that Paul sees persecution as a manifestation of the cosmic conflict between God in Christ and the present evil age. Paul argues for this by appealing to earlier Scripture in Genesis. Hutchens offers a biblical-theological reading of Genesis that makes sense of Paul’s usage of the book in Galatians.
