Book Progress in Chemometrics Research

Download or read book Progress in Chemometrics Research written by Alexey L. Pomerantsev and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2005 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemometrics is the chemical discipline that uses mathematical, statistical and other methods employing formal logic: to design or select optimal measurement procedures and experiments, and -- to provide maximum relevant chemical information by analysing chemical data. Being conceived as a branch of analytical chemistry, chemometrics now is a general approach. It extracts relevant information out of measured data, regardless of their origin: chemical, physical, biological, etc. Chemometrics has been applied in different areas, and most successfully in multivariate calibration, pattern recognition, classification and discriminant analysis, multivariate modelling, and monitoring of processes. The main chemometric principle is a concept of hidden data structures that can be found using methods of multivariate data analysis. These are the well-known statistic tools such as partial least squares (PLS), soft independent modelling of class analogy (SIMCA), principal-component regression (PCR), wavelet analysis, and many others. Current activities of chemometricians fall into two main categories: (1) development of new methods for manipulating multivariate data and (2) new applications of the known chemometric techniques in different areas such as environment control, food industry, agriculture, medicine, and engineering.

Book Progress in Materials Analysis

Download or read book Progress in Materials Analysis written by M. Grasserbauer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vol. 2 of "Progress in Materials Analysis" contains the lectures of the 12th Colloquium on Materials Analysis, Vienna, May 13-15, 1985. Due to the top level international participation from industry and research insti tutions the proceedings offer a survey of the present state and current trends in materials analysis of high actuality. The major topics covered are surface, micro and trace analysis of materials with a special emphasis on metals but also including other materials like ceramics, semiconductors, polymers. According to the strategy of the meeting attention is focussed on an interdisciplinary approach to materials science - combining analytical chemistry, solid state physics and technol ogy. Therefore progress reports on modern analytical technique like SIMS, SNMS, AES, XPS, Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy, EPMA, STEM, LAMMS, etc. are contained as well as presentations on the development of materials. The majority of the contributions centers on the treatment of important problems in materials science and technology by a (mostly sophisticated) combination of physical and chemical analytical techniques. Book Handbook of Nanomaterials in Analytical Chemistry

Download or read book Handbook of Nanomaterials in Analytical Chemistry written by Chaudhery Mustansar Hussain and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2019-10-22 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Handbook of Nanomaterials in Analytical Chemistry: Modern Trends in Analysis explores the recent advancements in a variety of analytical chemistry techniques due to nanotechnology. It also devotes several chapters to the analytical techniques that have proven useful for the analysis of nanomaterials. As conventional analytical chemistry methods become insufficient in terms of accuracy, selectivity, sensitivity, reproducibility, and speed, recent advances have opened up new horizons for chemical analysis and detection methods. Chapters are authored by experts in their respective fields and include up-to-date reference materials, such as websites of interest and suggested reading lists on the latest research. Summarizes recent progress in micro-fabrication using nanomaterials for analytical chemistry techniques—among the most modernized and fast ways of performing these tasks Pays special attention to greener approaches that reduce the environmental impact and cost of the analysis process, both in terms of chemicals used and time and resource consumption Discusses many types of nanomaterials for analytical chemistry techniques, including those that are well established, such as carbon nanomaterials, as well as those that are newly trending, such as functionalized nanomaterials
