Book valuation de la cin tique segmentaire du ventricule gauche

Download or read book valuation de la cin tique segmentaire du ventricule gauche written by Aurore Halkovich and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: AVEC LA MISE AU POINT DE NOUVEAUX TRACEURS ET L'AMELIORATION DES TECHNIQUES D'IMAGERIE, LA CARDIOLOGIE ISOTOPIQUE EST DEVENUE UNE VERITABLE SPECIALITE, DANS LAQUELLE LA GAMMA-ANGIOCARDIOGRAPHIE OCCUPE UNE PLACE PRIVILEGIEE. SON PRINCIPE EST SIMPLE. UN CORPS EMETTEUR DE RAYONNEMENTS GAMMA (TECHNETIUM 99M) ETANT INTRODUIT DANS L'ORGANISME PAR VOIE VEINEUSE, LA MESURE PAR VOIE EXTERNE DE LA RADIOACTIVITE QU'IL EMET PERMET D'APPRECIER SON DEVENIR DANS LE POOL SANGUIN. C'EST UNE TECHNIQUE FONCTIONNELLE, CAR L'ACTIVITE D'UN ORGANE PEUT ETRE CONTROLEE A L'AIDE DE TRACEURS SELECTIFS, NON EFFRACTIVE, DONC ATRAUMATIQUE, ET AMBULATOIRE, CE QUI CONSTITUE DES AVANTAGES INDENIABLES. PAR CONTRE, CET EXAMEN POSSEDE UN CERTAIN NOMBRE DE LIMITATIONS DONT LES PRINCIPALES SONT LA FAIBLE DENSITE D'INFORMATION DES IMAGES ET LA RESOLUTION MODESTE DES APPAREILS DE DETECTION. IL EN RESULTE QU'UNE QUANTIFICATION ABSOLUE EST IMPOSSIBLE. Book Calcium Entry Blockers in Cardiovascular and Cerebral Dysfunctions

Download or read book Calcium Entry Blockers in Cardiovascular and Cerebral Dysfunctions written by T. Godfraind and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2 The free internal Ca+ concentration in human red cells is set according to the leak 2 and-pump principle: There is a finite passive Ca+ influx at the physiological 2 2 Ca+ -gradient across the membrane which is compensated by Ca+ pumping in the outward direction with a rate given by the degree of saturation of the A TP-fuelled Ca 2 pump at the steady-state internal Ca+ concentration. Simons (1982) recently devised a method allowing the measurement of the steady 2 2 state internal Ca+ concentration. Cells are suspended in media of different Ca+ con 2 2 tent whose Ca+ concentration is monitored by a Ca+ -selective electrode. When the cells are lysed (by digitonin) there is an upward or downward deflection of the elec 2 trode signal. At the point of zero deflection, the cellular Ca+ concentration equals that 2 of the medium. The result is, that in fresh human red blood cells the Ca+ concentra tion is ;;;; O.4,uM (this is an upper estimate; the true value may be considerably lower).

Book Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction

Download or read book Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction written by Filippo Crea and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-08-15 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the past two decades a number of studies have shown that abnormalities in the function and structure of coronary microcirculation can be detected in several cardiovascular diseases. On the basis of the clinical setting in which it occurs, coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) can be classified into four types: CMD in the absence of any other cardiac disease; CMD in myocardial diseases; CMD in obstructive epicardial coronary artery disease; and iatrogenic CMD. In some instances CMD represents an epiphenomenon, whereas in others it represents an important marker of risk or may contribute to the pathogenesis of myocardial ischemia, thus becoming a possible therapeutic target. This book provides an update on coronary physiology and a systematic assessment of microvascular abnormalities in cardiovascular diseases, in the hope that it will assist clinicians in prevention, detection and management of CMD in their everyday activity.

This book was released on 2005-11-11 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few areas of biomedical research provide greater opportunities for radically new therapies for devastating diseases that have evaded treatment so far than gene therapy. This is particularly true for the brain and nervous system, where gene transfer has become a key technology for basic research and has recently been translated to human therapy in several landmark clinical trials. Gene Therapy of the Central Nervous System: From Bench to Bedside represents the first definitive volume on this subject. Edited by two pioneers of neurological gene therapy, this volume contains contributions by leaders who helped create this field and are expanding the promise of gene therapy for the future of basic and clinical neuroscience. Drawing upon this extensive collective experience, this book provides clear and informative reviews on a variety of subjects of interest to anyone exploring or using gene therapy for neurobiological applications in research and clinical praxis.* Presents gene transfer technologies with particular emphases upon novel vehicles, immunological issues and the role of gene therapy in stem cells* Discusses preclinical areas that are likely to translate into clinical studies in the near future, including epilepsy, pain and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis* Includes "insider" information on technological and regulatory issues which can often limit effective translation of even the most promising idea into clinical use

Book Measurement of Cardiac Deformations from MRI Physical and Mathematical Models

Download or read book Measurement of Cardiac Deformations from MRI Physical and Mathematical Models written by A.A. Amini and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2001-12-31 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Measurement of Cardiac Deformations from MRI: Physical and Mathematical Models describes the latest imaging and imag analysis techniques that have been developed at leading centers for the visualization, analysis, and understanding of normal and abnormal cardiac motion with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The use of MRI in measuring cardiac motion is particularly important because MRI is non-invasive, and it is the only modality capable of imaging detailed intramural motion within the myocardium. Biomedical engineers, medical physicists, computer scientists, and physicians interested in learning about the latest advances in cardiovascular MRI should find this book to be a valuable educational resource. In particular, it is more tutorial in nature than most of the technical papers where the research was originally published. Practitioners and researchers working in the field of cardiovascular MRI will find the book to be filled with practical technical details and references to other work, enabling the implementation of existing methods and serving as a basis for further research in the area.
