Download or read book An Users Manual for Computerization of Hydrogeologic Data for a River Alluvium Classic Reprint written by James W. Naney and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-27 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from An Users Manual for Computerization of Hydrogeologic Data for a River Alluvium A system for rapid storage and retrieval of data from a multilayered aquifer based on the hydraulic properties of the aquifer was developed. The manual consists of the data-retrieval system, control-card setups and specifications, lists of variables, formats and source listings for data stor age and retrieval, and graphical illustrations demonstrating how the system works. Data. For the examples were collected in the alluvium of the W ashita River near Chickasha, Okla. These data were processed according to the manual to produce a lithologic cross section, an isopachous map, a specific subdatum map, a distributed test-hole-data map, and a perme ability-distribution map. The system proved capable of storing and re trieving a large volume of layered hydrogeologic data, and it Will have wide geographic application Where hydrogeologic studies are undertaken. The system may also be adapted to other ty15es of materials because it uses numerical coding exclusively to des'eribe the hydrogeologic data to be stored, retrieved, and manipulated. Keywords: computerization of hydrogeologic data, ground water, ground-water storage, ground-water transmissib-ility, hydrogeology, hydrology, lithology, soil permeability. Book excerpt: The authors preceive a trend in the study and practice of groundwater hydrology. They see a science that is emerging from its geological roots and its early hydraulic applications into a full-fledged environmental science. They see a science that is becoming more interdisciplinary in nature and of greater importance in the affairs of man. This book is their response, and they have provided a text that is suited to the study of groundwater during this period of emergence.

Download or read book Hydrogeophysics written by Yorum Rubin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-05-06 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This ground-breaking work is the first to cover the fundamentals of hydrogeophysics from both the hydrogeological and geophysical perspectives. Authored by leading experts and expert groups, the book starts out by explaining the fundamentals of hydrological characterization, with focus on hydrological data acquisition and measurement analysis as well as geostatistical approaches. The fundamentals of geophysical characterization are then at length, including the geophysical techniques that are often used for hydrogeological characterization. Unlike other books, the geophysical methods and petrophysical discussions presented here emphasize the theory, assumptions, approaches, and interpretations that are particularly important for hydrogeological applications. A series of hydrogeophysical case studies illustrate hydrogeophysical approaches for mapping hydrological units, estimation of hydrogeological parameters, and monitoring of hydrogeological processes. Finally, the book concludes with hydrogeophysical frontiers, i.e. on emerging technologies and stochastic hydrogeophysical inversion approaches.
