Book An Introduction to Concepts of Nutrition Facilitator s Handbook

Download or read book An Introduction to Concepts of Nutrition Facilitator s Handbook written by Anja Morris-Paxton and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019-02-13 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concepts of nutrition encompass two kinds of knowledge and ability; the first one is a knowledge and understanding of the individual nutrients that we need as human beings to work, learn, socialise, and exercise at our best. We need to understand what they are, what they do, and what happens if we do not have these nutrients. The second one is the ability to use these nutrients together to understand which foods they come from and what to do with these foods so that we get all the nutrients we need in the amounts that we need them. This programme looks at nutrition from a holistic point of view that it not only gives facts about the nutrients we need but also looks at what to do with our newfound knowledge and understanding.

Book Soil health for paddy rice

Download or read book Soil health for paddy rice written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2021-02-20 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The contents of the manual are intended for use by FFS facilitators and trainers in the implementation of a season-long FFS on paddy rice with a strengthened component on soil health. Some of the exercises presented in this manual were adapted from existing manuals, some were developed during a series of workshops on soil health for FFS facilitators, and some were developed based on activities carried out with farmers during pilot soil health-FFSs in the Philippines. The content and relevant exercises can also be adapted for use in other crops and farming systems such as other cereals, pulses or vegetables, with or without livestock. The Manual contains basic concepts on soil health with related exercises pertaining to the following areas that are usual components of a FFS: ● Baseline survey ● Participatory technology development (PTD)/field studies ● Agroecosystem analysis (AESA) ● Special topics. As the Manual was developed together with FFS facilitators and trainers, it demonstrates the ability of trainers to adapt to the local situation and develop methods and materials accordingly. It is hoped that this output will encourage further experimentation in the field on the topic of soils, soil health and nutrient management, and for FFSs to document their experiences and exchange learnings with other FFSs, farmers and colleagues working in the field of soil health and sustainable intensification of crop production.

Book Implementing Evidence Based Practice in Healthcare

Download or read book Implementing Evidence Based Practice in Healthcare written by Gill Harvey and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-03-24 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The successful implementation of evidence into practice is dependent on aligning the available evidence to the particular context through the active ingredient of facilitation. Designed to support the widely recognised PARIHS framework, which works as a guide to plan, action and evaluate the implementation of evidence into practice, this book provides a very practical ‘how-to’ guide for facilitating the whole process. This text discusses: undertaking an initial diagnosis of the context and reaching a consensus on the evidence to be implemented; how to link the research evidence with clinical and patients’ experience and local information in the form of audit data or patient and staff feedback; the range of diagnostic, consensus building and stakeholder consultation methods that can be helpful; a description of facilitator roles and facilitation methods, tools and techniques; some of theories that underpin the PARIHS framework and how these have been integrated to inform a revised version of PARIHS Including internationally-sourced case study examples to illustrate how the facilitation role and facilitation skills have been applied in a range of different health care settings, this is the ideal text for those interested in leading or facilitating evidence based implementation projects, from the planning stage through to evaluation.
